Between 1881 and 1893 a substantial boat burial site from the late Germanic Iron Age was discovered in the cemetery at Vendel Church in Uppland, Sweden. The finds were so extraordinary that the location was used to name the period between 550 and 750 CE – Now known as the [Vendel Period](https://tinyurl.com/2422475d).

The Vendel XIV Helmet

Modeled from images of a real specimens. Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis) were a close relative of modern humans that lived across Europe and western Asia during the Pleistocene. They were well adapted to cold environments, with robust bodies and evidence of complex behavior including tool use, symbolic expression, and care for the injured. They declined and ultimately disappeared around 40,000 years ago, likely due to a combination of climate change, competition, and interbreeding with modern humans. Base model created with AI tools, then sculpted/edited in Blender for scientific accuracy.

Neanderthal Skull

Rock 5 comprises an attractive honey-coloured sandstone.  It is carved with many armed figures, a hunting scene on its central part, an inscription on Latin letters and especially a refined horse image (visible on this 3D model).  

The mounted horse image is considered the best evidence of a strong influence of the classic Etruscan art on the ancient local carvers during a specific period of the Middle Iron Age (600-400 BC).

Valcamonica, Bedolina - Rock 5 (1)

A wooden face fragment from an anthropoid coffin lid, which features a layer of painted plaster ground. The flesh is painted a prominent yellow, bordered by a thin red line that outlines the contours of the face and the forehead. The almond-shaped eyes and heavy eyebrows are rendered in black and white pigments. The upper section of the head features abstract decoration, which perhaps represents a sun disc resting on the hair or wig. The back of the timber shows substantial evidence of later interventions, including several iron nails and two modern metal hooks, which were added to allow the object to be hung for exhibition. 

Likely dating to the Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–715 BC).

Coffin Face (W531)

This 3D model represents a preserved section of the deck construction of the 17th-century Dutch fluyt (fluitschip) Double Dutch (NCN 34303), documented during the 2025 field campaign. The wreck (31m x 6m), discovered in 2022 in the Dutch Wadden Sea near Kornwerderzand, was subject to systematic archaeological investigation between 2023 and 2025. The surviving deck structure provides valuable evidence for the vessel’s internal arrangement and load-bearing framework, and contributes to the interpretation of the ship as a two-deck armed merchantman. Together with the other recorded structural components, it supports identification of the vessel as a fluyt measuring approximately 120 Amsterdam feet.

Double Dutch Fluyt: deck assembly

**Dating:** 4550 - 4025 BCE

A flat, spherical copper bead. This object was made by rolling out a metal wire with a rectangular cross-section. During the Neolithic period, particularly in its later phase, the first tools for working copper were already in use. This period is regarded as the beginning of the Metal Ages and is frequently referred to in academic literature as the Copper Age or Chalcolithic. Copper beads are among the earliest evidence of metal being worked into jewellery.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

Copper Bead

This model presents part of the keel and floor timber assembly of the 17th-century Dutch fluyt (fluitschip) Double Dutch (NCN 34303), recorded during photogrammetric survey in 2025. As a principal structural element of the ship’s bottom construction, this assembly provides significant information on building sequence, framing arrangement, and hull architecture. The wreck (31m x 6m) , located near Kornwerderzand in the Dutch Wadden Sea, has been provisionally dated to c. 1680 on the basis of dendrochronological evidence and associated material culture. In conjunction with the vessel’s recorded dimensions and other constructional features, this element reinforces the identification of the wreck as a two-deck Dutch fluyt.

English Version
The General Figure, the highest-ranking statue in the Qin Terracotta Army, dates to the Qin Dynasty (c. 3rd century BCE). Its defining attributes are the pheasant-feather crown​ and colored fish-scale armor​ with decorative knots. The figure commands authority with a stern expression and upright posture. Crafted using mold-and-sculpting techniques, it was originally fully painted. Accidentally discovered in 1974​ in Lintong, Shaanxi, during a well-digging, it was later excavated, providing invaluable evidence of Qin military and artistic achievements.

Burg Alzenau reconstruction

when tucked into a corner is this fantastic early Christian grave stone.

Dating from the 6th C, the stone was originally sited at a lost Capel Bronwen, it was then taken to Ty'n Rhosydd at Llantrisant (Anglesey) where it was set up as a rubbing post, then as a gate post, hence the holes, and then as a chopping block!!!

Eventually it ended up at Trescawen/ Tre-Ysgawen Hall near Llangefni where it was studied and translated. Finally brought to the museum in Bangor circa 1950. It is important not just because it is a long and detailed inscription, most common memorial inscriptions of this period are fairly limited to HIC IACIT X FILI Y

But this stone firstly is dedicated to a woman, sadly her name lost, being damaged on the top left corner. Despite this, the inscription goes into great detail about the virtue and piety of her husband, a priest. The early Catholic church allowed marriage.

Secondly, the stone is evidence of an organised church in Anglesey.

The latin used here shows that the writer was familia

**Dimensions:** 15,15 x 1,33 cm, 3,6 mm

**Dating:** 601 - 900 CE

The scalpel is distinguished by its elongated, rectangular handle, which terminates in a heart-shaped curl. The blade is narrow in design. The handle exhibits several small notches. Evidence of corrosion is also apparent on the blade. The back of the blade displays an upward curvature. The cutting edge curves upwards towards the tip.

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

Scalpel

Bowl with slightly convex walls toward the base and a concave base. It features a black-painted rim and an exterior surface covered with a dark orange slip, showing evidence of surface wear and craquelure. The decoration consists of a black horizontal line located on the lower middle portion, above which is a horizontal band composed of 19 glyphs outlined in black. The interior preserves remnants of an orange slip. NAA of the paste indicates the area between Cancuén and Machaquilá, Petén, as the probable place of origin or manufacture.

Bowl with Glyphic Band

This Roman Brooch was found at the Friends Burial Ground, a little south of Staines High Street. It is in fabulous condition, still retaining its pin and enamelling. The brooch would look great holding clothing in place and makes a real statement. It can been seen on display in Spelthorne Museum in a drawer under the main Roman display case, so please remember to open the drawers and investigate there. Along with the brooch you will see hair pins, a comb, mirror, rings and small spoons/scoops – everything you need to look you best.

Excavation (1976) by K. Crouch for LAMAS and DOE revealed a Romano British occupation site of late lst/2nd century date, abandoned 3rd century with some reoccupation in the 4th. There was evidence of 5th/6th century Saxon occupation; the site was given over to agriculture from the late Saxon period. (London Archaeol 2, 362-5).

**Death Trooper SDC**

Helmet Star-Wars - Death Trooper - SDC

I made this lamp in Blender even though my preferred software is Maya. This was done to help me familiarize myself with Blender and how it works in comparison since my subscription ran out on Maya. It was also to ensure that my skill sets do not diminish while waiting for a job in 3D art for game development and provide evidence that I can do more high detailed models, just that I haven't had much opportunity to do so.
my plan was to do several different models during this period of my career, to expand My Portfolio and maintain my skill level however, due to a combination of hardware limitations and motivation issues. in other words, my computer isn't all that good as well as I lack motivation to do aimless work without a goal, I just don't have the energy for this.

Lamp

The only known complete relic from a forgotten age. Forged out of an unkown red metal, These odd and everlasting mechanisms are the only remaining evidence for the existence of a primordial intelligent race. According to legend, their descendants are the only ones who can unlock this weapon's true potential.

Lance of the Primordials - DAE Weaponcraft

將軍俑 Terracotta General Figure, Qin Dynasty,China

A complete, small bag-shaped pottery jar composed of a coarse clay fabric containing visible inclusions of mica flakes along the body. The vessel was wheel-spun, while the pointed, tapering base shows evidence of having been finished by hand-carving. Due to poor or uneven firing conditions in the kiln, the exterior surface displays significant patches of dark, mottled discoloration. The body is slightly asymmetrical and misshapen from the production process, though it remains structurally sound with no visible breaks or modern repairs. Just beneath the rolled exterior rim runs a single, lightly incised horizontal groove. Attached to this line is a small, carefully applied clay appliqué representing a stylised Hathor-head or emblem, consisting of a central solar disc flanked by two curving cow horns.  This jar dates to the Second Intermediate Period (c. 1700–1550 BC).

Small Bag-shaped Jar (W5364)

Yoke carved from greenish granite, decorated with a relief representation of a stylized jaguar face or a serpent in profile at both ends. It features volute-shaped brows and semi-open jaws displaying fangs. Traces of red pigment are visible, evidence of the original polychromy. Yokes are objects that have been associated with the Mesoamerican ballgame.
