This very small rock is possibly CR1 (3) or (4) in DES 2004, but it may be a newly found one as it does not fully fit either description.

The rock is a small outcrop just 1m E of Craighill 729 - essentially a continuation of 729 if the interventing heather were stripped off.  This rock is unusual as the cup marks are all very small - mostly 2-3cm.  It also appears to have a very unusual, possibly unique motif.  This is a pentagon of 2cm cup marks, all conjoined by slightly shallower grooves, with a further connecting groove linking to a sixth cup mark just outside of the pentagon.  The whole grouping is completely ringed, with the ring having a bulge to accomodate the sixth cup mark.

There are also another 4 cup marks on the rock, one being ringed.

Lost Stones of Strathtay - Craig Hill 1881 (3/4)

A large, shield-shaped, domed outcrop on the Urlar Estate to the S of Craig Hill and E of Hill Park.  This model shows the western portion of the rock.
The entire outcrop is covered in a complex array of rock art motifs, some of which can be viewed directly in the field in good light conditions.  However, the 3D model brings out far more detail than is now directly visible.

Hart s Tongue Fern 3D Model A striking evergreen fern with undivided strap shaped fronds that resemble the tongue of a stag. Sandstone glacial erratic reused as a bullaun stone, in the townland of Clonlisk,  south Offaly.  The Hill of Knockshigowna lies 9km to the NW. Sandstone bullaun with three hollow depressions or basins visible on the surface of the stone. The term 'bullaun' (from the Irish word 'bullán', which means a round hollow in a stone, or a bowl) is applied to boulders of stone or bedrock with hemispherical hollows or basin-like depressions, which may have functioned as mortars. They are frequently associated with ecclesiastical sites and holy wells and so may have been used for religious purposes. Other examples which do not appear to have ecclesiastical associations can be found in bedrock or outcrop in upland contexts, often under blanket bog, and are known as bedrock mortars.
