One of my first terrain stl designs dates back to 2018 , it was a crude watch tower .stl.I designed it for a scenario from the v2 Market Garden book. It was admittedly a beginner’s level effort, which was fitting given my skill level at the time. I am sure it was downloaded in a reasonably high number, not least because it was a free download.A customer recently emailed me and mentioned that he found the assembly a bit clunky, and that message sparked me to revisit it. I designed a new guard tower, it follows the same precept – easy printable, robust design, intended for tabletop gaming, not historical dioramas, but it is just an all-round better design and terrain piece.In keeping with the spirit of my original offering, this entirely new stl pack is available as a free download for personal use.The test print was printed at .3mm in FDM. Assembly Print all the parts and clean any extraneous bits off.The four legs fit the platform at a 10-degree angle. Fit the legs into the platform and align the leg pairs together; glue them together, ensuring that they are all lined up. Once dry, take the now solid leg quad and glue the platform to it.The two roof supports have bayonets fitting that snaps into the roof. Test fit that into the platform, and once you are assured the position is correct, glue the roof supports onto the underside of the roof. DO NOT GLUE THE ROOF LEGS ONTO THE TOWER PLATFORM!!The roof is intended to be removable.Lastly glue the base to the assembled tower, there are four protrusions to fit the legs. Once that is dry, you can glue the ladder to the opening in the tower (ensure you plae it correctly, and to the base. Finish it as you choose.
