In Japanese shrines, there is a place called "Temizuya" or "Chozuya" which is used for purifying hands and mouth before entering the shrine.
The Temizuya usually features a dragon-shaped spout, from which water flows.
Thisdragon shown here is from Nishi-Waseda Tenso Shrine in Tokyo.
