EN: A wooden sculpture in the form of a Dutch merchant, with slight traces of original paint remaining. Called a hoekman ('corner man)', it was part of the stern decoration of 17th-century fluit-ship. The wreck was dubbed the 'Ghost Ship' and lies at a depth of around 130 meters in the Baltic Sea. Kept at the Dutch National Maritime Archaeological Depot at Museum Batavialand. Excavated from the Ghost Ship in 2010; property of Sweden. Wreck date: middle of the 17th century. Oorspronkelijk een hoekman genoemd, die deel uitmaakte van de versierde spiegel van een 17de-eeuws fluitschip.
