The Steller sea lion (Eumetopias jubatus), or northern sea lion, is the largest member of the Otariidae family (eared seals). Found in North Pacific waters, they are known for their massive size—males up to 2,500 lbs—light tan/reddish-brown coloration, and thick, lion-like manes. They are opportunistic carnivores, feeding on fish and cephalopods.
