David Gilmour, born March 6, 1946, in Grantchester, near Cambridge, is a British guitarist and singer. He is best known for his career with Pink Floyd, of which he has been a member since 1968. In 2018, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him sixth on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.[1] David was also named "Greatest Fender Guitarist of All Time" in a poll conducted by Guitarist magazine, topping the list ahead of other legendary guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
