An anthropoid coffin face, which is formed from a mixture of mud and straw rather than the typical solid timber. The core is covered in a layer of gesso, which provides a smooth surface for the polychrome decoration. The face is painted a vibrant yellow—a symbolic colour often associated with the eternal, indestructible flesh of the gods. The eyes are rendered in black and white, and the eyebrows are defined with bold black lines. The interior is finished with a light whitewash. A single hole is located in the centre of the forehead. This piece possibly dates to the Third Intermediate Period (c. 1069–715 BC).
