Construido entre 1727 y 1751 para abastecerr agua a la ciudad de Antequera, originalmente recorría 6 km desde el municipio de San Felipe del agua, actualmente persisten tramos como este que corresponde a la calle Garcia vigil entre calle cosijopí y xólotl. Funcionó hasta 1940, forma parte del centro histórico de la ciudad de Oaxaca de Juárez.
