## Tyrannosaurus rex — Smithsonian Reconstruction
Museum-grade 3D reconstruction of *Tyrannosaurus rex* based mainly on the famous MOR 555 “Wankel Rex” specimen from the Hell Creek Formation of Montana. Dating to the Late Cretaceous (66–68 million years ago), this apex predator shows the classic tyrannosaur anatomy: massive skull, bone-crushing teeth, powerful hindlimbs, reduced two-fingered arms, and a balancing tail. The model reflects modern paleontological posture with a horizontal body and elevated tail. MOR 555 became especially important through soft-tissue preservation studies led by Mary Schweitzer. Digitized by the Smithsonian Institution for scientific and educational study. _(Based on digital data from the Smithsonian Institution 3D Digitization Program. Original scan and digital asset by the Smithsonian Institution.)
