The handshake motif is clearly defined and sculpted. The inscription 'LIEBHER' is clearly legible on the ring band. The precise nature of the text's referent remains ambiguous, as it cannot be determined with certainty whether the name 'Liebher' or the distinctly written salutation 'Lieber Herr' (Dear Sir) is intended. The letters are embedded in a smooth background with cross-hatching, and there is a diagonally hatched rectangular field in the area of the ring shoulder.
