Statue of Polybios at the entrance ramp of the parliament building in the 1st district of Vienna. The statue was made in 1899 by Alois Düll. Polybios was an ancient Greek historian who became famous for his main work, the partially preserved Historíai. In it he describes in originally 40 books the universal history of Rome over the period from the beginning of the First Punic War to the destruction of Carthage and Corinth.
