The PB (index 6P9), equipped with an integrated and removable suppressor, was developed by A. A. Deryagin at the Tochmash Central Research Institute. The PB is an independent system due to numerous changes and redesigns to the weapon's mechanisms compared to the PM. Since the slide is significantly shortened, the return spring is positioned vertically in the grip, interacting with the slide via a swinging double-arm lever.
