Incense burner with “theater-type” lid, of Teotihuacan-inspired tradition. The lid features a standing figure wearing an ornate headdress embellished with floral appliqués, butterflies, circular elements, and pendant fringes in yellow and green pigments. Crowning the headdress is a supernatural butterfly visage with prominent fangs, an iconographic motif closely associated with warfare in Mesoamerica. The figure bears an oversized nose ornament and holds circular disks with attached fringes, while his garment rendered as a feathered costume, it includes a pectoral medallion across the chest. The pedestal base displays a frontal talud-tablero motif and vertical lateral flanges."
