Description
Buddha Cave (MAHS-THA-YLA-MUY-NAT-S-001-F-0001), also known as Tham Chaeng, is a modified limestone cave on the hillside east of Wat Khuha Phimuk, Yala. Reached by large southern staircases, it forms a spacious religious hall with skylights, terracotta-tiled floors, and more than 20 Buddha images. The main object of veneration is the large reclining Buddha, accompanied by seated Subduing Mara images, a raised Buddha platform, and a mandapa, with a passage leading outside to a Buddha’s footprint. The cave remains an active Buddhist space visited by devotees and tourists regularly.
