Description
This model was generated from 417 images taken with Go Pro Hero 9 camera, using Agisoft Metashape softwarfe at low resolution. The photogrammetric survey was undertake after Spring tides has removed the overburden of windblow sand. In contrast to the survey undertaken on 14 November 2022, where an overburden of sand is evident. The wreck is that of the Francis Beddoe, a wooden ketch of 250 tons built at Saundersfoot in 1872 - it was the last vessel from the yard of Francis Beddoe on Railway Street (now The Strand). There are numerous small mentions appearing in the Shipping Intelligence columns of newspapers noting cargos and voyages - e.g. carrying maize, gravel, sand, slate from Porthmadoc and coal to ports such as Newport, Ulveston, Glasgow, Whitehaven, Bristol, London, Exeter, Bideford, Barnstaple, Boscastle, Carnarvon (from Thompson's colliery), Dundalk and Coleraine.
