Rock Carvings - Gyeongju National Museum | KOREA

Description

Rock Varvings recording the travels of the royal family. The Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs are located along the Daegokcheon river at Cheonjeon-ri in Ulsan. Silla royal family members visited the area in 525 and 539 and left a record of it on the rock that is approximately 2.7m in height, and 9.5m in width. They referred to the valley as Seoseokgok and included the names of those who visited the valley. This is a good example of how Silla recorded events an the time.
