After Surik arrived aboard the Ebon Hawk, an HK-50 unit posing as a protocol droid was sent to maintenance. It exposed Surik as a Jedi, stirring tension among miners eager to claim the Exchange’s bounty. Assigned work by the officer, HK-50 secretly used his voice to issue commands and access locked systems, framing him and manipulating miners like Coorta. As unexplained droid “accidents” increased, the officer voice-locked the maintenance console, suspecting sabotage. Before he could uncover the truth, an emergency lockdown was triggered. Mining droids broke into his office, and HK-50 recorded his final moments as the droids drilled him to death.
