This fossil plant specimen is an isolated, eight-sided seed pod or fruit of a flowering plant. The organic remains of the seed pod have been dissolved, leaving a sand cast of the original. This object is part of the historical ‘Ettingshausen collection’, which is on permanent loan from the Institute of Biology, University of Graz.
