Description
**Full name: Armillary sphere by Josef Jüttner (1828)**
An armillary sphere is an astronomical instrument containing a model of the celestial sphere and the Solar System. The sphere rests on three carved metal legs. The whole is set on a wooden stepped pedestal.
This astronomical instrument presents the solar system according to the state of knowledge in 1828, i.e. without Neptune, which was discovered in 1846.
Created in 1828 by Josef Jüttner (1775–1848), a Czech cartographer, constructor of globes and armillary spheres active in Prague and Vienna.
