The piece is set with a dark blue faceted sapphire. At each of the four corners of the elongated sides of the piece, a cylindrical mount has been placed, with a transparent, raspberry-red, round garnet cabochon. The ring band exhibits a flat, trapezoidal cross-section that undergoes uniform expansion. The ring shoulders are formed of stylised animal heads.
