Griechischer Tempel

Description

Greek temple in Pötzleinsdorf Palace Park in Vienna's 18th district. Around 1750, the estate belonged to Johann Josef Count Khevenhüller. In 1762, Fabius Ricci ran a cloth shearing business there, which is why it became known as the “Riccian estate”. After several changes of ownership, Johann Heinrich Geymüller acquired the castle in 1797, had it renovated, extended it to include a Meierhof and bought the Pötzleinsdorf estate in 1802. Some buildings from this period have been preserved, including the temple, also known as Preindl-Salettl - named after Maria Preindl, Geymüller's mistress. Writer Salomon Mosenthal (1821-1877) used it as a place to work during his summer stays in Pötzleinsdorf. The palace and park were once an important center of cultural and social life. **Many thanks to JuanG3D, who improved the geometry in many places.** ![](https://wien.denkmal-3d.at/SF/griechischer_tempel01.jpg)
