The sculpture erected in Kőszeg is a plastic replica of the Hungarian Crown of St. Stephen and incorporates its iconic features in a simplified, monumental form. The hemispherical crown is decorated with flat relief depictions of Christian figures and ornamentally framed image fields, which are based on the medieval enamel iconography of the original. The characteristic slanted cross enhances its high recognition value and refers to historical tradition.
