Adult bears have massive, powerfully built, concave skulls that are large in proportion to the body. The braincase is small and elongated in shape. Brown bears have a remarkable dental structure, characterised by a robust construction of the incisors and a pronounced size of the canines. The dental structure of brown bears reflects their diet, which is characterised by high diversity, and generally shows similarities to that of other bear species.
