The panel bears eight glyphs which, according to the text, include the name of a noble or ruler, Jan/Janaab Ti’ O’ Hix-Witz-Ahaw-Wa’, “Lord of Jaguar Hill” (a political entity identified by several epigraphers as a territory related to La Joyanca, Zapote Bobal, and Pajaral). The text states that he was “in the presence of” Yuknoom Ch’een, “the Lord of the Five K’atuns,” K’uhul Kaan Ajaw, “Holy Lord of the Serpent,” identifying him as the ruler of Calakmul.
