This large eagle once stood atop the old First National Bank in downtown Sioux Falls. When the building was demolished during urban renewal, this eagle and a pair of bas-relief panels of Native Americans were salvaged. They are all at street level at the west entrance to the current bank.

The eagle is carved from Indiana limestone, in the Art Deco style, and dates from about 1929. It has stylistic simularities to other eagles carved from the same limestone. Possibly it was based on a modified generic pattern used repeatedly for various architectural sculptures.

This eagle is a beloved local landmark on Phillips Avenue, in downtown Sioux Falls, SD.

That is what the Swedish explorer Sven Hedin called [Wan fa Gui yi Hall in the Putuo Zongcheng Temple, Chengde](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putuo_Zongcheng_Temple). In 1929, Hedin travelled to China with the mission to procure a Lamaistic temple to the World Exhibition in Chicago in 1933. An exact model was manufactured at the architect W. H. Liang's workshops in 1932 in Beijing. Two smaller models in scale 1:10 were also made. One of them was sent to Chicago as well. The other was taken to the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm. "General Ship Repair maintains the rich ship building tradition so long associated with the South Baltimore neighborhoods of Federal Hill and Locust Point. Charles “Buck” Lynch founded the company in 1924, moved to this location in 1929, lost the company to bankruptcy during the Great Depression and managed to buy it back at auction. Today, the fourth generation of the Lynch family operates the company at one of the last remaining industrial sites along Key Highway.
General Ship has repaired a variety of vessels through the years, including schooners, steamships, paddle wheelers, and supertankers. Workers perform maintenance work on ships in dry docks at this site in addition to sending crews out to other facilities. As of 2020 the facility, which includes a 17,300 square foot shed and two 1000-ton floating docks, repairs mostly workboats."

Paimio Sanatorium is a former tuberculosis sanatorium in Paimio, Southwest Finland, designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. 

Aalto received the design commission having won the architectural competition for the project held in 1929. The building was completed in 1933, and soon after received critical acclaim both in Finland and abroad. 

The building served exclusively as a tuberculosis sanatorium until the early 1960s, when it was converted into a general hospital. Today the building is owned by Turku University Hospital but is not functioning as a hospital; rather, the building has functioned as private rehabilitation center for children since 2014. The sanatorium has been nominated to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Acheulean Hand Axe (518a2)

The sheepskin coat was purchased for the collection of the Tatra Museum from Andrzej Kubin of Ratułów in 1929. The owner of the apparel was a sixty-year-old inhabitant of the village of Ciche, who had worn it on her wedding day. The sheepskin coat, tailored in a fashion typical for women, reaches to the knees and is slightly narrowed at the waist and widened at the bottom. It was fashioned from five pieces of leather: two front pieces, back piece and two sleeves. It is fastened with three wooden buttons covered with white leather, which are slid through loops. The stand-up collar is decorated with red leather binding.

The sculpture is located in the Vienna Water Park which was created between 1928 and 1929. About one third of the area is taken up by water.

Horn Ford Model A 1929

Magnificent gilded ring buckle of bronze from the Viking Age of Irish workmanship, with thin tinned silver plating on one side. The three-sided fields on the buckle's wide ends are smooth, but the large roundings on the buckle are originally the eyes of the animal and are larger and with ornaments along the edge. There are traces of amber inlay in one of the roundings. - The other side has a thin tinned silver plating, richly decorated with engraved ornaments. In the lower corners of the large three-sided fields are circular fields filled with scrolls. On each of the large three-sided fields is a richly decorated animal figure. Directly opposite the wide ends is also a field decorated with ribbon braids. Dated to 800-1050 AD.
