Abandoned Mansion

This colossal statue of the Nile was found in 1513 in Campo Marzio where it was probably part of the decoration of the Iseo Campense, dedicated to the Egyptian deities Isis and Serapis. The river is shown as a venerable old man stretched out on his side with a cornucopia of fruit in his left arm and ears of wheat in his right hand. Egypt is represented by the presence of a sphinx. The scene is enlivened by sixteen children who allude to the sixteen cubits of water by which the Nile rises for its annual flood.

This bronze cast was made after a Roman marble statue in the Musei Vaticani, Rome and donated to the city of Copenhagen by the Albertina Foundation.

Made in low poly and each with a single low res texture as buildable mapmarkers for a modding project for Hearts of Iron IV. I have placed the Eiffel Tower in the middle for a better size comparison and to show you, how gargantuan both buildings are.

The Palace of the Soviets was a project to construct a Administrative and convention center in Moscow. If built, the 416-metre (1,365 ft) tall palace would have become the world's tallest structure, with an internal volume surpassing the combined volumes of the six tallest American skyscrapers.

The Volkshalle ("People's Hall"), also called Große Halle ("Great Hall") or Ruhmeshalle ("Hall of Glory"), was a proposal for a monumental, domed building to be built in a reconstituted Berlin (renamed as Germania) in Nazi Germany. The project was conceived by Adolf Hitler and designed by his architect Albert Speer. Due to the enormous size of the building and the use of white granite and marble it could even have been seen from space.

The specimen is the skull of the pachycephalosaurian dinosaur Stegoceras validum (UALVP 2), collected from the Dinosaur Park Formation of Alberta, Canada, and housed at the University of Alberta. Our team published on this specimen in 2014 in an article by Jason Bourke, Ruger Porter, Ryan Ridgely, Tyler Lyson, Emma Schachner, Phil Bell, and Lawrence Witmer (http://bit.ly/1p5x0Ip). This research was funded in part by U.S. National Science Foundation grants to Witmer and Ridgely.

More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, water colors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office.

One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love "The Praying Hands."

**Triceratops ignifrons: A Landmark Ceratopsid Discovery in Alberta**

In 2022, paleontologist Dr. Miriam Solano uncovered a striking ceratopsid specimen in the Horseshoe Canyon Formation of Alberta, Canada. Named *Triceratops ignifrons*—“Fire-Frilled Three-Horned Face”—this quadrupedal herbivore measured over 9 meters in length and featured an unusually elaborate frill with spiked margins and preserved pigment structures.

Spectroscopic analysis revealed traces of structural coloration, suggesting vivid blue, orange, and red hues across its frill and flanks. This challenges prior assumptions that ceratopsids relied solely on size and horn morphology for display. The discovery of *T. ignifrons* provides compelling evidence for visual signaling in herbivorous dinosaurs and deepens our understanding of social behavior and predator deterrence in Late Cretaceous ecosystems.

Fire-Frilled Three-Horned Face - dinosaur

3D model of the ceramic figurine "Snailmail" from the period of Art Noveau which is part of the Uetz collection. Karl Uetz (1914–1998) was a private collector and owner of a large mollusc collection. In addition to thousands of snail and mussel shells, the collection also contains approximately 200 art and everyday objects as well as ethnographic objects. The collection was purchased by the NHM in 1974 and digitised in 2025.
