1875 by Becker Bros., a Baltimore firm formed by German immigrants.
Over the years the building has been a warehouse for the Baumgarten & Co.
toy manufacturers and stationers’, an upholstery shop, a roller skating
rink, a mattress factory, cabinet makers, a furniture repair shop, and
artist and maker studios.

New development has been proposed by Cross St Partners to convert it into a mixed use space for offices, production, and/or retail space.

Dies ist ein weiteres Gebäude aus dem Freilichtmuseum Mitterkirchen.

Das Sommerhaus besteht aus zwei Räumen: im Vorderen befindet sich eine zentrale Herdstelle. Über den Hintere, welcher als Schlafraum fungiert, wurde eine Zwischendecke eingefügt. Der dadurch entstandene extra Stauraum konnte über eine einfache Leiter erreicht werden.

This is another building from the open-air museum Mitterkirchen.

The summer house consists of two rooms: the first one has a central hearth. A false ceiling was inserted above the rear room, which functions as a bedroom. The resulting extra storage space was accessible by a simple ladder.

The oaks (Quercus) are a genus of plants in the beech family (Fagaceae). In ancient religions, myths and legends, the oak was a sacred tree. All parts of the oak are slightly poisonous because of the tannins they contain. The fruits (acorns) are rich in carbohydrates and proteins and were used for fattening pigs.

Die Eichen (Quercus) sind eine Pflanzengattung in der Familie der Buchengewächse (Fagaceae). In den alten Religionen, Mythen und Sagen war die Eiche ein heiliger Baum. Alle Teile der Eiche sind wegen der enthaltenen Gerbstoffe leicht giftig. Die Früchte (Eicheln) sind reich an Kohlenhydraten und Proteinen und wurden zur Schweinemast genutzt, indem man die Schweine in die Wälder trieb.

Abandoned Asylum.

The old building, a former 'lunatic asylum' in Columbia, South Carolina, opened in 1821, and was used to house traumatized veterans from the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865.

Dies ist ein weiteres Gebäude aus dem Freilichtmuseum Mitterkirchen. Es stellt ein in Blockbauweise errichtetes Haus der Hallstattzeit dar, welches in zwei grosse Räume unterteilt wurde. Einer der beiden Teile wurde als Wohnraum / Küche genutzt, wärend der andere Bereich als Stall fungierte.

This is another building from the open-air museum Mitterkirchen. It represents a block-built house of the Hallstatt period, which was divided into two large rooms. One was used as a living room / kitchen, while the other as a stable.

Das Freilichtgelände am Burgberg in Schwarzenbach besteht aus sieben Gebäuden und zahlreichen weiteren rekonstruierten Objekten wie Garten-, und Zaunanlagen. Diese erlauben dem Besucher den keltischen Lebensalltag selbst zu erfahren. Die Innenausstattung der Häuser mit Vorrats- und Kochbehältern, weiterem Hausrat und Werkzeug der späten Eisenzeit, soll das Alltagsleben dieser Zeit lebendig illustrieren.

Der hier gezeigte Innenraum stellt die Werkstätte eines Drechslers / Korbflechters dar und zeigt neben typische Werkzeuge auch diverse Rohmaterialien. Eine kleine Herdstelle mit zugehöriger Vorratsgrube und ein einfaches Bett kompletieren die Einrichtung.

Die Klause Kastel ist ein Landesdenkmal in Rheinland-Pfalz und wurde von Mönchen in die Felswand aus Sandstein geschlagen. Die Ursprünge der Klause gehen auf das 13. Jh. und die Kreuzzüge zurück. Die Klause, die bis heute erhalten geblieben ist, ist dem preußischen König Friedrich Wilhelm IV zu verdanken, der durch den preußischen Baumeister Karl-Friedrich von Schinkel ein Grabmal für den blinden Böhmenkönig Johann errichten ließ.

The Kastel hermitage is a state monument in Rhineland-Palatinate and was carved into the sandstone rock face by monks. The origins of the Klause date back to the 13th century and the Crusades. The hermitage, which has been preserved until today, is owed to the Prussian King Frederick William IV, who had the Prussian master builder Karl-Friedrich von Schinkel build a tomb for the blind Bohemian King John.

Die Völklinger Hütte ist ein 1873 gegründetes ehemaliges Eisenwerk in der saarländischen Stadt Völklingen. Es wurde 1986 stillgelegt. 1994 erhob die UNESCO die Roheisenerzeugung der Völklinger Hütte als erstes Industriedenkmal aus dem Zeitalter der Industrialisierung in den Rang eines Weltkulturerbes der Menschheit. Das Modell zeigt einen Raum mit einer elektrischen Steuerung im Bereich der Sinteranlage.

The Völklingen Ironworks is a former ironworks founded in 1873 in the Saarland town of Völklingen. It was shut down in 1986. In 1994, UNESCO elevated the Völklingen Ironworks' pig iron production to the rank of World Heritage Site of Humanity as the first industrial monument from the age of industrialization. The model shows a room with an electrical control system in the area of the sinter plant.
