This original double-ended Scotch boiler from "PS Waverley",  the last sea-going paddle steamer to be built, was manufactured by Rankin and Blackmore of Greenock and installed in the vessel when it was built in 1947. It is now a rare example of a boiler of this type and size.  Its impressive dimensions (over 5m tall) give a good indication of the size of the vessel’s engine room and machinery spaces.
 
The Scotch boiler was almost universally used during the ‘golden age’ of steam propulsion, and is another innovation developed on the Clyde by James Howden. The distinctive circular plates at the front provide access to the furnaces, where the fuel was burned. This boiler is double-ended, meaning that it has furnaces at both the front and back, which meet in the combustion chamber in the middle.

A massive steampunk house environment featuring two fully realized structures connected by a third-floor bridge, designed to feel both functional and chaotic in true industrial fashion. This project focuses heavily on dense detail work and layered storytelling through design.

The buildings are wrapped in an intricate network of pipes, pressure systems, and mechanical infrastructure, suggesting a self-sustaining energy system powered by boilers, steam flow, and experimental tech. Rooftops are packed with solar panels and exhaust systems, blending retro-futuristic engineering with a gritty, lived-in aesthetic.

Every surface was approached with intentional complexity, from overlapping materials, modular elements, and small mechanical details used to create visual depth and realism. From ventilation systems and scaffolding to interconnected pipework, the goal was to make the structure feel believable, functional, and constantly in motion.

Water Tank

The David W. Mills (202.3x34x18.5, 1017.19 tons gross) was originally built in 1874 as the Sparta (U.S. No. 115242) by Thomas Quayle & Sons of Clveland, OH. Sparta was constructed for the Cleveland Transportation Company. Sparta was renamed David W. Mills iin 1907 following an extensive rebuild after a fire.

On August 11, 1919 the David W. Mills was enroute from Montreal to Sodus to take on a load coal. Visibility on the lake was poor due to smoke from wildfires in northwestern Ontario and the Mills stood in close to the south shore in an attempt to sight either the Fair Haven or Oswego lights. The Mills was nearer to the southern shore than had been thought and ran onto Ford Shoals, going hard aground. The vessel was broken apart by storms before it could be salvaged. 

This wreck lies within Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary, designated in 2024 to protect heritage resources within 1,722 square miles of eastern Lake Ontario.

There was a building here that contained a boiler and winch for pulling a cart up from the mainline railway to meet the tramway.

This model features an authentic handcrafted copper body with realistic aging, oxidation, welded seams, metal fittings, dispensing tap, top lid, and functional boiler design, accurately capturing the appearance of classic tea boilers used for brewing and serving tea.

Industrial Steel Door

Built in Auckland in 1884, the steam tug Awhina served a long career in Albany, notably supporting the 1914 ANZAC fleet and saving the steamer Castlemoor from fire in 1928. After being stripped for scrap, the vessel was towed to Ledge Bay and burned on April 19, 1936, leaving its boiler and robust timber framing as a permanent fixture of the coastline. The site remains a rare example of 19th-century New Zealand shipbuilding, characterized by the reinforced construction required for heavy-duty maritime towing.

Arclight is a Mane who can be encountered as a Restless Spirit in The Calamityville Horror, where he is stuck behind a crumbling fake wall in the basement, bound to his own corpse.

Arclight was once a mortal repairman who was contacted to fix the boiler by the old lady who previously lived in the Calamityville house. Unbeknownst to him, however, the tea the lady offered him while he was over was poisoned with arsenic. Arclight died right next to the boiler he was repairing, and was bricked up behind a fake wall to cover up the murder.
