The giant isopod (*Bathynomus giganteus*) is a species of aquatic crustacean and a cousin to terrestrial "pill bugs" or "roly polies" that are commonly found under logs. These animals are found in cold waters with a depth between 310 to 2140 meters (1,020–7,020 ft) in the West Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. FREE Bugs City: Mushroom House with Green Ant

This is a 3D scan of a cockroach I bought on etsy. It's part of a larger project where I combined 3D modeled assets with photogrammetry (see http://whatswrongwithwhite.tumblr.com/image/177884973392 ). I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways). For cleanup I used blender (cleaning up holes, chopping up into body parts, modeling deatils). For the final material design and export Substance Painter did a great job.
