The Great Drawing Room has the most sumptuous interior in the house. It was a setting for entertaining, music and dancing. The room is inspired by the magnificent [Baroque](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baroque) style of the late 17th century. This style provided a suitable opulent backdrop for big parties.

The Great Drawing Room

This is a 3d scanned model made with photogrammetry technique in our own custom built 3D scanner equipped with Canon 200D cameras. This model was processed through Reality Capture and retopologized via ZRemesher within Zbrush. It has animation ready topology wrapped on top of the scan in Wrap3. 

This is a true human size detailed model of a female hand.

On festive occasions the gentlemen sat here after dinner, smoking cigars and talking. On regular days, however, this was the family sitting room, where they gathered to drink coffee and play board games in the evenings.

The smoking room is inspired by the [Orient](https://goo.gl/pDNk9v). It was common in the late 19th century to decorate with oriental features and the room is typical for the ideals of the time. The style is associated with [colonialism](https://goo.gl/epxUNw) and militarism and was therefore considered to be appropriate for a room for gentlemen. The walls are clad in silk which was meant to give the room a feeling of an officer's tent.

The Smoking Room

This is a 3D animation ("Shelly") of a near-adult loggerhead (ID=982.000406129037) sea turtle (*Caretta caretta*, straight carapace length=86 cm) that was initially captured on June 23, 2017 by the Inwater Research Group, and then photgraphed with the Beastcam technology with 20 Canon G16 cameras.  Photographer Christine Shepard operated the cameras and the sea turtle was released that same day in good condition.  The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.

Animator Johnson Martin  used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center each provided feedback on the movements.

Model 47A - Loggerhead Sea Turtle

This is a 3D model of Bakari, a **Southern Right Rhino** (Ceratotherium simum) from **Perth Zoo**, Western Australia, which was initially scanned using an array of 20 Canon G16 cameras.  CG artist **Jer Bot** used the open source 3D animation software **Blender** (blender.org) to fully reconstruct the rhino. The mass of the Rhino is 2225 kg and its length is 2.1 meters. Reference photos were also used as a guide to create taxonomic features onto the 3D model using Blender's sculpting tools.

Model 56A - Southern White Rhino

This was intended as a room for socialising for gentlemen. Those who did not participate in the game could watch from the wall-mounted bench.

The Billiards Room, like [The Dining Room](https://skfb.ly/6uLDI), is done in  a style between [Renaissance](https://goo.gl/9XS59E) and early [Baroque](https://goo.gl/BVsvH2). Note that the windows in both rooms are made up from round antique [lights that have been framed in lead](https://goo.gl/G86YdL).

The Billiards Room

**Welcome to [The Hallwyl Museum](https://hallwylskamuseet.se/en/) in Stockholm, Sweden.**

In this room Wilhelmina received callers and attended to her correspondence, something that was an important part of a family's networking.

It was common to display family portraits in this type of room. There are portraits of the Hallwyl daughters, great grandchildren and sons-in-law. 

The Morning Room was one of the reception rooms that were used daily, along with [the Dining Room](https://skfb.ly/6uLDI) and the Smoking Room (link coming soon).

The Morning Room

In Virgil, Laocoön was a priest of Poseidon who was killed with both his sons after attempting to expose the ruse of the Trojan Horse by striking it with a spear. In Sophocles, on the other hand, he was a priest of Apollo, who should have been celibate but had married.

This particular sculpture was made by the unknown artist and is a copy of the original work. 

3D scanned using photogrammetry in Hans Tausens Park in Copenhagen. Capturing of the scupture was done by 4 people/4 cameras by jointly dancing around the sculpture.

 Reconstructed in Reality Capture from about 1000 images.

Laocoon and His Sons

This is an animation (“Mar”) of a hatchling Hawksbill (ID Ei1801) sea turtle (*Eretmochelys imbricata*, straight carapace length 11.8 cm) that was initially rescued by the Loggerhead MarineLife Center, and then photographed with the Beastcam technology with 30 Canon G16 cameras. The sea turtle was released soon after in good condition. The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.

Animator Johnson Martin used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center each provided feedback on the movements

Model 50A - Hawksbill Sea Turtle

This is an animation of an adult female **Great Hammerhead Shark** (Sphyrna mokarran) that was reconstructed from multiple cameras arranged around a dive in South Bimini, Bahamas in February 2020.  Casey Sapp coordinated all videography.  Kevin Davidson kindly contributed useful reference photos.

CG artist **Jer Bot** used the software Blender to align these camera views to reconstruct the accurate shape and color of **Nemesis** (PIT tag 900236000107365), which had an estimated length of 329 cm based on laser photogrammetry.  Nemesis commonly frequents dive spots near Bimini and is well-known to divers and scientists from the Bimini shark lab (www.biminisharklab.com).

The **ANGARI Foundation** (www.angari.org) coordinated and supported this research, along with Sean Williams, Ken Morton, Jonathan and Jameson Bayuk, Annabelle Brooks, and Vital Heim.

Model 73A - Great Hammerhead Shark

Once the home of [Walther](https://goo.gl/79nUeT) and [Wilhelmina von Hallwyl](https://goo.gl/Y8iiJs).

The Vestibule was the main entrance where both the Hallwyls and their guests entered the house. When you walk up the stairs you will see portraits of mainly Walther von Hallwyl´s ancestors. 

The portraits here date from the 16th to the 19th century. Walther and Wilhelmina inherited the portraits along with the family's main seat, the medieval castle [Schloss Hallwil](https://goo.gl/dsWmoe) in Switzerland. 

As they wanted to leave the castle with all its furnishings intact the ancestral portraits were copied by the artist [Julius Kronberg](https://goo.gl/PS1hEg). The originals were sent back to Switzerland when the Stockholm house was bequeathed to the Swedish state.

The Upper Vestibule

This room features the main part of Wilhelmina von Hallwyl’s collection of antique arms and armour.

The collection, typical of its period, focuses on arms for hunting and finely decorated pieces.

The weapons are hung according to their various categories, such as firearms, suits of armour and white-arms, and arranged in neat patterns. 

The esthetical experience of the room and its objects was important.

The Armoury

This is a 3D animation ("Scallywag") of a juvenile green sea turtle (ID=CM1648) (*Chelonia mydas*) that was captured on December 23, 2016 by the Loggerhead MarineLife Center at Blowing Rocks Preserve.  The turtle was attacked by a shark, but survived.  It was photographed with the Beastcam technology with 20 Canon G16 cameras by Christine Shepard.

The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.  Animator Jer Bot used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center provided feedback on the movements.

Handsome man in casual clothes in A-pose 86

Once the home of [Walther](https://goo.gl/79nUeT) and [Wilhelmina von Hallwyl](https://goo.gl/Y8iiJs).

Walther and Wilhelmina took their daily meals in The Dining Room as well as when entertaining. They were often three at the table, as the lady's companion Ida Uhse dined with them. On festive occasions the table would be set for more people. The table could be extended and seat about [30 guests](https://goo.gl/Tpf7i2).

The reception rooms are all decorated in the historicist manner, meaning that the rooms are inspired by different historical periods. The Dining Room is decorated in the [Baroque](https://goo.gl/sTMdAC) style. It is a somber style suitable  for formal dinners. 

The walls are panelled in oak with details of [black bog oak](https://goo.gl/G2SLhm).

The Dining Room

**Welcome to [The Hallwyl Museum](https://hallwylskamuseet.se/en/) in Stockholm, Sweden.**

Once the home of [Walther](https://goo.gl/79nUeT) and [Wilhelmina von Hallwyl](https://goo.gl/Y8iiJs).

After a formal dinner, the ladies would retire to the small drawing room for drinks and conversation. The room was only used on special occasions; normally the doors would have been closed.

The room is based on a 1760s [Rococo](https://goo.gl/Uymjmm) interior at the manor house Äs, one of several country homes that belonged to the Hallwyl family. In the late 19th century, the style was considered feminine, with its soft, curvaceous forms. It was therefore suitable for a ladies’ drawing room or boudoir. 

In a grand home at the turn of the 20th century, rooms were generally gender separated. Some of the interiors were designed for the ladies, and others for men.

The Small Drawing Room

This is a 3D model  of a racer snake (Dolichophis jugularis) scanned using the Beastcam MACRO on a live snake in Cyprus. The mass of the snake is 479 grams. CG artist Jer Bot retopologized and reconstructed the snake in the open source 3D animation software Blender (blender.org). He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. The construction of this model is part of the post-doc research of Dr. Savvas Zotos (POST-DOC/0916/0034) (https://retrack.terracypria.org) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. This 3D model will be used as a means for both studying and presenting the species movement and behavioural patterns.

This is a 3d scanned model made with photogrammetry technique in our own custom built 3D scanner equipped with Canon 200D cameras.

This is a true human size and detailed model of a sporty beautiful young woman of Caucasian appearance. The model is captured in casual pose to be perfectly matching for variety of architectural visualizations, e.g. sport ground, gym, beach, etc.

The product is ready for immediate use in architectural visualisations, for further render and detailed sculpting in Zbrush.

In The Serving Room the [footmen](https://goo.gl/9r5oY3) polished silver and put the last touches to the dishes before they were served.
The Serving Room is connected to the basement floor kitchen via the back stairs, a lift and a dumbwaiter. There were separate stairs and passages for the servants so that the work could run smoothly and at the same time not be visible in the grand rooms.
The threshold between this room and the dining room marked an invisible border between the family’s domain and the servants' areas; a border that should not be crossed casually. The servants’ work spaces should be respected. This also applied to the owner of the house.

The Serving Room

Scanned Minas Tirith Model (Lord of the Rings)

**Welcome to [The Hallwyl Museum](https://hallwylskamuseet.se/en/) in Stockholm, Sweden.**

This room was built for Wilhelmina von Hallwyl's collection of European porcelain. Almost all manufacturers of porcelain in the 18th and early 19th century are represented here. The collection consists of more than 500 objects, with pieces from [Meissen](https://goo.gl/jZbQ7q), [Sèvres](https://goo.gl/zUohNG) and [Wedgwood](https://goo.gl/RN1WRm), to name a few.

The collection contains both service sets and figurines. It gives us a good overview of the production of the period in general. In this way it deviates from many contemporary collections that often focused on one category of objects.

The Porcelain Room

This is an animation of a house gecko (Hemidactylus platyurus) photo-captured with the Beastcam MACRO live in the Irschick lab at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mass is 4.6 grams. CGI artist Johnson Martin retopologized and reconstructed the gecko from images captured with the Canon G16 cameras. We partnered with Cameron Siler from the University of Oklahoma and Tony Gamble from Marquette University to create this model, which they will use for testing models of predation and gliding in geckos.  Creation of this model was supported by NSF grant 1657662.
