Rocca Calascio is a mountaintop fortress or rocca in the Province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, Italy.
Built of stone and masonry exclusively for military purposes and intended only to accommodate troops and never as residence for nobles, the fortress overlooks the Plain of Navelli at one of the highest points in the ancient Barony of Carapelle.

Construction of the fortress started in the tenth century as a single watchtower. A walled courtyard with four cylindrical towers at the corners around a taller inner tower was added in the thirteenth century. The lower half of the fortress is built with distinctively larger stones than its upper half. It is believed that this feature was to make its base impenetrable to invaders. The fortress was never tested in battle. However, it was badly damaged in November 1461 by an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7 to 8 on the Richter Scale.

<i>Onychodictyon</i> has a cylindrical body covered in finger-like **papillae** and two rows of oval-shaped **sclerites**, with pairs of soft legs ending in claws. It shared these features with modern onychophorans (velvet worms) and tardigrades (water bears). Onychodictyon was probably a predator that crawled across the sea floor, using its sturdy curved grasping claws to capture prey and climb over objects. The sclerites on its back may have helped to defend against larger predators.

The chalice has a circular foot with a small flange with a wavy pattern and four straight sections. The slope of the foot has one fold. The cylindrical pelmet of the stem overlaps the base. The nodus is slim, vase-shaped, framed by rings on both sides. The cup is slender with an enlarged edge; it is placed in a basket. The fields of the foot slopes, nodus and basket are alternately fluted and decorated with Regency patterns. The folds of the foot slope, stem rings, cup walls and the fields filled with Regency patterns are gold plated, while the fluted fields are left in a natural silver colour.

Chalice

The "Dancing Fauns" fountain is located on Zwycięstwa Street in Gliwice, next to the Municipal Office building. It depicts three dancing fauns holding hands. It was cast from cast iron at the Gliwice Steelworks in 1928, designed by Berlin sculptor Hans Dammann. The fountain sits on a cylindrical pedestal decorated with a motif of ram heads and festoons.

A very interesting feature is the facial decoration, with designs on the cheeks achieved using the scarring or excoriation technique, which consists of making incisions in the skin that, when healed, leave marks or raised designs, especially if the skin is keloid. In some cases, to enhance the relief, pebbles or other objects were placed under the raised skin, like inlays.

Vase

This model represents a hinge mounting bracket designed for mechanical assemblies. The component features a rectangular base plate with mounting holes and a cylindrical pivot support used for connecting rotating or hinged parts.

The curved reinforcement between the base and the pivot housing improves structural strength while maintaining a compact design. The part demonstrates common CAD modeling techniques such as extrusion, filleting, hole features, and cylindrical geometry creation.

This model was created as part of a mechanical CAD practice series to improve skills in parametric modeling and mechanical component design.
