This magnificent armour made [King Erik XIV](https://bit.ly/2XHLbZ0) of Sweden look imposingly triumphant. In true renaissance spirit, the motifs on the armour were borrowed from ancient myths, the characteristics of which lent themselves perfectly to the Swedish history and national symbols of that time.

The armour was probably made in [Arboga](https://bit.ly/2FQKrGy), Sweden, around 1562, from where it was sent to Antwerp in Belgium to be decorated by the goldsmith Elisaeus Libaerts. The opaque gilt ornamentation has been [repousséd](https://bit.ly/2xuxmy0) from the back and chased from the front. 

Perhaps the armour was worn by King Erik XIV on 2 October 1564 when, following a military campaign in [Blekinge](https://bit.ly/2KUVNNQ) in the South of Swedan, he returned to Stockholm with his military entourage. Whilst winding its way through the streets of Stockholm, the procession was showcasing chained prisoners of war from Denmark, a motif that can also be found on the armour.

Of Planes and Satellites

**Welcome to [The Hallwyl Museum](https://goo.gl/qbZSY4) in Stockholm, Sweden.**

Once the home of [Walther](https://goo.gl/79nUeT) and [Wilhelmina von Hallwyl](https://goo.gl/Y8iiJs).

The Vestibule was the main entrance where both the Hallwyls and their guests entered the house. When you walk up the stairs you will see portraits of mainly Walther von Hallwyl´s ancestors. 

The portraits here date from the 16th to the 19th century. Walther and Wilhelmina inherited the portraits along with the family's main seat, the medieval castle [Schloss Hallwil](https://goo.gl/dsWmoe) in Switzerland. 

As they wanted to leave the castle with all its furnishings intact the ancestral portraits were copied by the artist [Julius Kronberg](https://goo.gl/PS1hEg). The originals were sent back to Switzerland when the Stockholm house was bequeathed to the Swedish state.

The Upper Vestibule

This helmet, with its rather special appearance, is one of the few preserved objects that we know was owned by the Swedish king [Gustav Vasa](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustav_I_of_Sweden). 

It was made in Germany in 1540, probably in Augsburg or Nuremberg, which were home to some of the most skilled armour makers of the time. The visor, the part that covers the face, did not originally belong to the helmet, but it is thought to be of the same period.

A helmet of this type was made not for battle but for celebratory occasions. In the 16th century, full suits of steel armour were the height of fashion. For parades and other royal festivities, the social elite would dress up in specially-made sets of costume armour with a close helmet. During these celebrations it became popular, in the early 16th century, to wear close helmets with grotesque visors in the form of animal or human faces, like this one, to enhance the festive atmosphere and heighten the sense of theatricality.

The Swedish History Museum holds a large collection of bones of various kinds, including human remains. We living humans are both appalled by and attracted to visible evidence of death. The scanned human remains presented on Sketchfab from our museum are important museum artefacts, chosen because they represent a specific historical event. They also represent one of humanity’s worst acts: violence towards other humans. It is therefore our wish that you, as a viewer, use the 3D-models with respect. 

The image shows a human cranium with injuries on its left and front side. A small, square hole above the left eye and on the left cheek bone was probably caused by a pole weapon or a battle axe. The gash across the mouth could have been caused by a sword or a thin bladed axe.The cranium is one of several thousand artifacts found in a mass grave outside Visby on the island Gotland. All remains and objects found on the site stem from a battle between Gotlandic peasants and Danish mercenaries on 27 July 1361.

Hospital Stuff

I was asked to do a prop from a movie, game or tv series as art test in 48 hours for a job interview. 

I chose Corvo's mask from the "Dishonored" game series, because it's one of the most iconic objects in the game series, being displayed on box art, in game, and in various promotional materials, it being the literal "face" of the franchise. The mask also appears ingame as a hero asset, it being equipped by the protagonist at the beginning of each level.

According to legend the arm of Royal Secretary Olof Sverkersson Elfkarl, in office during the reign of Swedish kings [Johan III](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_III_of_Sweden), [Sigismund](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigismund_III_Vasa) and [Karl IX](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_IX_of_Sweden).

Olof Sverkersson was called Olof Turncoat in many parts of the country and in [Finland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finland) (which was a part of [Sweden](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden) at that time) they called him Olof Perkelson, i.e. Olof Son of the Devil.

The arm was included in the [Skokloster](https://goo.gl/Mspd5w) collection in the 1750’s when a substantial amount of objects were transferred from Salsta manor, previously owned by the [Bielke](https://goo.gl/F78x9L) family, to Skokloster. The arm had been in the Bielke armoury “since time immemorial”.

In The Serving Room the [footmen](https://goo.gl/9r5oY3) polished silver and put the last touches to the dishes before they were served.
The Serving Room is connected to the basement floor kitchen via the back stairs, a lift and a dumbwaiter. There were separate stairs and passages for the servants so that the work could run smoothly and at the same time not be visible in the grand rooms.
The threshold between this room and the dining room marked an invisible border between the family’s domain and the servants' areas; a border that should not be crossed casually. The servants’ work spaces should be respected. This also applied to the owner of the house.

All of the inconveniences of a food truck with none of the mobility, it's the bar and restaurant that appeals to only one specific type of person (the train hipster). 

It has a few props that can be lifted and dropped into other scenes like cardboard boxes, metal shelving, kegs and faucets, metal gas tanks, kitchen cookers and utensils, and some disposable dishware. The train car itself could be used in a subway scene with a few simple modifications.

The Dalarö wreck is one of the world's best preserved 17th-century wrecks, lying at about 30 metres depth by Edesön off Dalarö. It was discovered in 2003 by the Marine Culture Society, and archaeologists from the Swedish Maritime Museum have investigated the site together with specialists from the University of Southampton and Södertörn University.
Although it is a fairly small ship, about 20 meters long, with a hold and six gun ports, its silhouette is similar to the larger warships. On and around the wreck are many objects – pottery, glass bottles, tools, handweapons, parts of the rigging, and baskets and crates. On the bottom rests the figurehead, depicting a roaring lion on its hind legs. Two masts are still standing.

In 2017, the ship was probably identified as Bodekull, a small frigate.

In 1929, Hedin travelled to China with the mission to procure a Lamaistic temple to the World Exhibition in Chicago in 1933. An exact model was manufactured at the architect W. H. Liang's workshops in 1932 in Beijing. Two smaller models in scale 1:10 were also made. One of them was sent to Chicago as well. The other was taken to the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm. This model has been plagiarised on TurboSquid and is being sold for £19.  So far (after 3 months) they have not removed this model from their downloads.  I am not sellling these models on other platforms.  I only use sketchfab and they are available to download for free.  I appreciate that some downloaders will want to amend my models, but i do not condone them selling them for profit.  Turbosquid does not allow comments on their platform so I am unable to redirect anyone to my sketchfab page.  For this reason I believe Turbosquid to be a dishonourable company and one I will never use.  I am not sure how many models Mladelfa has copied and used for their own purposes, but I am dismayed that they are using one of mine.

The Jesko is a mid-rear engine supercar produced in limited series by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Koenigsegg. Introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, it succeeds the Regera. The name Jesko is a tribute to the founder's father, Jesko Von Koenigsegg.

A flatcoloured low poly fishing boat modeled after an old Swedish fishing boat model. Due to lack of reference I took some liberties with the design of the ship, though it is mostly faithful to the original.

The Dalarö wreck/ Bodekull part 2

Hemmema (Hämeenmaa) Styrbjörn was one of the newest and strongest ships to take part in the war between Sweden and Russia 1788-1790. Launched in the spring of 1790 alongside its sister ships Hjalmar and Starkotter, it was the largest archipelago fleet frigate in Sweden and the flagship of the Swedish line in the second battle of Svensksund (Ruotsinsalmi). This ship type is very similar to ocean-going frigates and the Russian Aleksandr class in armament, size and rigging, allthough this ship in particular had larger 36-pounders on the main deck.
