My entry for the 3D Editor Challenge

I wanted the entire scene to feel like the cover of a vaporwave album, and even added some music to fit in with the scene. Hope you guys enjoy the different take on it.

As for edits, I applied a lot of noise while lowering contrast and harshly color balancing it to fit with the blown out vaporwave colors. I also applied some emission and chromatic aberation to add a distorted light effect.

Truly a fun experience to see what exetremes can be done with the 3D editor!

Black Hole – Cosmic Phenomenon (3D Model)

This model represents a black hole, one of the most extreme and mysterious objects in the universe. Black holes are regions of space where gravity is so intense that not even light can escape, formed from the collapse of massive stars or found at the centers of galaxies.

The design focuses on visualizing this immense gravitational force through a dark central core, glowing accretion disk, and distorted light effects. The goal was to make an otherwise invisible cosmic phenomenon feel tangible, dramatic, and visually striking.

An early version of the Peterson house from Alpha 2 / 1.5 found in the game files with three pieces of the house labeled "house_neigbour_XX" specifically. This is very identical to the final version of the house and also has a few noticeable modeling errors: some distorted UVs and the second floor having an incorrect height, and the walls and the floor of the stairs not matching with both floors, all of these which would be later fixed in the final house.

This model is based on the cover of the album Tubular Bells, the debut album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released on May 25, 1973 by Virgin Records and recorded between 1971 and 1973 at The Manor (England). The record is composed of two long pieces, one on each side of the original vinyl, and incorporates elements of progressive rock, classical music, folk, and experimental music. The cover, designed by Trevor Key, depicts a distorted metallic tubular bell floating against a cloudy sky, with no text in the original edition—an image that has been preserved, with variations, in later reissues.
