Carp are a large group of fish originally found in Central Europe and Asia. Various carp species were originally domesticated in East Asia, where they were used as food fish. Carp are coldwater fish, and their ability to survive and adapt to many climates and water conditions allowed the domesticated species to be propagated to many new locations, including Japan.

The outside world was unaware of the development of color variations in Japanese koi until 1914 when the Niigata koi were exhibited at an annual exposition in Tokyo.   

Koi or more specifically nishikigoi, are colored varieties of the Amur carp that are kept for decorative purposes in outdoor koi ponds or water gardens. Koi is an informal name for the colored variants of C. rubrofuscus kept for ornamental purposes.

The Chevrolet S-10 is a compact pickup truck that was produced by Chevrolet. It was the first domestically built compact pickup of the big three American automakers. When it was first introduced as a "quarter-ton pickup" in 1981 for the 1982 model year, the GMC version was known as the S-15 and later renamed the GMC Sonoma. A high-performance version was released in 1991 and given the name of GMC Syclone. The pickup was also sold by Isuzu as the Hombre from 1996 through 2000, but only in North America. There was also an SUV version, the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer/GMC S-15 Jimmy. An electric version was leased as a fleet vehicle in 1997 and 1998. Together, these pickups are often referred to as the S-series.

Gary[2] Wilson Jr.[3] is a snail owned by SpongeBob SquarePants. He is Patrick Star's first cousin.[4] He resides in a pineapple house on 124 Conch Street, Bikini Bottom, Pacific Ocean with his owner, SpongeBob.

He is a domesticated house pet with similar mannerisms to a cat, most notably his "meow," but has royal blood, as seen in the episode "Rule of Dumb." In the latter, the royal family tree proves that Gary and Patrick are cousins, as their fathers were brothers. His mannerism and affinity for the finer things in life in previous episodes foreshadows his royal blood, with the only exception being his dislike for baths.

This is a modern domesticated mule from the comparative osteology collection at the Idaho Musuem of Natural History. There was extensive damage to the skeleton that was repaired for an upcoming project, and costal cartilage has been added for aesthetics.

This skull belongs to an *Ovis aries*, more commonly known as the domesticated sheep. Domestic sheep can be found worldwide due to their association with humans. They are extremely versatile and are able to live in a variety of habitats ranging from mountain forests to desert biomes. Domestic sheep are believed to be descended from the mouflon (*Ovis gmelini*), a wild sheep native to the Caspian region.

The Gascony blue has as its ancestor the rock pigeon , but it is very close in its plumage and its conformation to the woodpigeon and even more to the stock dove .

Domestic Cat skull

Petroglyph J6, Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah.  Anthropomorphic figures in several styles, domestic goats, ibexes, and other motifs. All are common throughout the region. 

Khatm Al Melaha is a spectacular archaeological site on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It is one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE. There are also stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs and other features that date this site has having occupations from at least the early Holocene to the 19th century.

Over 175 stones with petroglyphs were documented and close to 400 motifs were identified. Every rock with a glyph was given an ID number and a GPS coordinate. In total 25455 terrestrial photographs, 5244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 GPS points (+/- 1cm) were done in a single day.

3D scan of a taxidermized Gharial adult female and juvenile (*Gavialis gangeticus*). These reptiles are domestic to Nepal and India and live in freshwater rivers. Even though their appearance may give another impression, these fish-eaters are no threat to humans.

Both of these Gharials cannot be found in the showrooms of the NHM Vienna, but a gharial pair is shown in Hall 28 of the NHM Vienna. They are Number 70 of the NHM Top 100.

Known for their long ears, sure-footedness, and distinct "bray" sound, they are used worldwide as working pack animals, living 30-50 years with proper care.

A groundbreaking discovery in the Amazon rainforest has stunned biologists: *Felis vermiformis*, a hybrid creature combining feline and caterpillar traits. This small, segmented organism features the expressive head of a domestic cat—complete with whiskers, tabby markings, and golden eyes—atop a caterpillar-like body with ten pairs of prolegs and fine green bristles. Despite its surreal appearance, *F. vermiformis* displays agile movement and surprising camouflage abilities. Researchers believe its evolution may be linked to mimicry and predator avoidance. The creature’s emergence challenges conventional taxonomy and opens new questions about genetic convergence in isolated ecosystems.

These highly adaptable animals, weighing 66–272 kg, are characterized by their powerful, muscular necks, sharp tusks, and destructive digging behavior. Often nocturnal and fast, they can be dangerous.
