CAMBER radiator

*Strix varia*, or the barred owl, can be commonly found in dense forests and wooded swamps in southwestern Canada, Washington, Oregon and northern California. The barred owl is, on average 48-51 cm tall, and has a rounded-head with grey-white facial disc. Where many owls have ear tufts, the barred owl does not.

The small serrations on an owl’s primary feathers creates small vortices reducing noise from wind drag to near zero. The silent flight of owls inspired the biomimetic solution to wind noise caused by the Shinkansen Bullet Train as it travels near 350km/h. These serrations also inspired the redesign of  Ziehl-Abegg, Inc’s fan blades, reducing noise and improving energy efficiency. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its unconventional Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, which focused largely on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 aircraft from All Nippon Airways, targeting a 2008 introduction. On July 8, 2007, a prototype 787 without major operating systems was rolled out; subsequently the aircraft experienced multiple delays, until its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. Type certification was received in August 2011, and the first 787-8 was delivered in September 2011 and entered commercial service in October 2011, with ANA.

Parallax (Alister’s Ship) – Rigged | 4K Atlas + 2K Separated Textures

This is my restored and improved version of Alister’s ship, which I’ve named Parallax.

The original asset required significant cleanup and restructuring to be usable in modern workflows. I preserved the original textures as the visual foundation, then rebuilt the texture layout into a single 4K atlas for efficiency. For convenience, the atlas can also be separated into 2K textures without losing detail or UV accuracy.

Key Improvements:

Fully rigged with proper vertex groups

Original textures preserved and enhanced for clarity

Corrected structure and presentation for easier reuse in fan projects and renders

One of the biggest challenges was that the ship originally only had one seat and incomplete presentation in its extracted state. I spent a considerable amount of time refining proportions, alignment, and overall visual readability so it looks correct while still staying faithful to the original game asset
