Origin and Entry into Hawkins
The Demogorgon originates from a parallel dimension called the Upside Down, a dark and decaying reflection of the real world. It enters Hawkins, Indiana, in November 1983 after Eleven, a child with psychokinetic abilities, makes transdimensional contact during experiments at Hawkins National Laboratory. This contact opens a portal between dimensions, allowing the creature to cross into the real world.

The circular, flat ring plate features a six-pointed flower in the centre, alternating with three female heads facing left. Furthermore, the presence of cross-shaped engravings, alternated with a pearl bar frame, is notable. This is surrounded by a ring of ten flower-shaped engravings and another pearl bar frame. The ring band is solid, with an even width, and possesses a flat profile cross-section. It is also characterised by stepped outer edges. The ring band exhibits a total of eleven cross-shaped hallmarks, arranged at regular intervals throughout its entirety. 

This object was digitized through the ‘Kulturerbe digital’ program of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport.

Ceramic bowl with a composite silhouette and flat base, decorated on both surfaces with black and red paint over a light orange slip. The interior decoration features a row of eleven birds shown in left profile, each with phytomorphic (plant) elements in the beak; at the center is a red-outlined circle with hatched fill. The exterior surface features seven seated figures in right profile, wearing loincloths, with tied hair and a volute element positioned in front. The base is decorated with a five-armed motif resembling a flower.

Bowl with bird motif

Polychrome vase with convergent walls, a flat base, and a narrow mouth. The exterior surface is decorated with a thick horizontal red band above and below the rim, painted over what appear to have been glyph cartouches outlined in black. The lower portion bears a black band, above which is an irregular brown-colored band. The vessel features eleven anthropomorphic representations, five zoomorphic bird figures, and two serpent figures interacting within a supernatural scene. The piece has been restored from multiple fragments.
