The Gislinge boat was a 12th Century CE working boat found near the village of Gislinge, Denmark, in 1993. Dendrochronological dating puts its date of construction at around 1130 CE. It was probably used for fishing and goods transportation, and by the signs of wear and tear must have been 50 years old by the time it sank. This reconstruction is based off the Gislinge Boat Open Source Project by the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum (@vikingshipmuseum) , which can be accessed here: https://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/en/professions/boatyard/building-projects/gislingeboat-2016

The project included the construction of various different experimental replicas based on the original find, and the publishing of all the plans so that other people around the world could build their own replica! A flatcoloured low poly fishing boat modeled after an old Swedish fishing boat model. Due to lack of reference I took some liberties with the design of the ship, though it is mostly faithful to the original.

A tiny offroad monster from Soviet Union. Designers of this were guided by the principles of maximum cheapness and passability. You can take your whole family and go to a distant forest for mushrooms or fishing.

Perfect for mobile games. Scale/rotation OK. Naming OK. 4k polys, one 2k texture. Doubt it was a good idea to use one texture for truck and glass, but that's ok.

LUAZ

Built in 1898 on [Foula](http://tinyurl.com/y6hgdtlb), one of the most remote islands in the Shetland archipelago, this traditional fishing vessel (known in the Shetland as a 'fourareen') was made from pieces of driftwood. 

The crofter who built "Venus" used boat building techniques that had been passed down from generation to genaration and were similar to those used by Vikings on their Longboats.
"Venus" would have been used by the crofter to catch fish and  collect flotsam and jetsam from the sea.

In 1964 it was bought by Paul Earling Johnstone who gave it a deck and tiny cabin and a Bermudan yawl rig, converting it into a yacht. He used it for long distance ocean sailing (including a single-handed trip across the Atlantic in 1965) and it remained in storage in Savannah until 1982, when it became part of the collections of the [Scottish Maritime Museum.](http://www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org/)

I made this model in my free time to practice different technique of a character creation
The model is made on Zbrush then retopologize using Zremesher. Then imported in blender for topologie corection and animation

Wyvern Fishing

Today I processed this fishing boat in Agisoft software. I extracted 92 frames from a video and masked all of them and this is the result. I'm pretty happy it all aligned correctly!

I got inspired while watching documentary about difrent kinds of fish species and fishing so I modeled one for fun :D

Small fish

A set of props made for Q-weeks DAE assignment.
Textures were made in photoshop.

These props will later be shown in a diorama so stay tuned for that :)

DAE - 5 Props - Fishing Set

3D scan of a taxidermized Beluga or European Sturgeon (*Huso huso*). The primeval bony fish was common in the Black See and migrated upstream every year to lay eggs. In the Danube River it was observed up to 2,500 kilometers upstream from the estuary; its main spawning ground was in Hungary. The female’s roe is very valuable and is seen as a delicacy. That is why wild populations have been greatly reduced due to overfishing. 

This specimen can not be found in the exhibition of the NHM Vienna, but a  very similar specimen of the Beluga Sturgeon is Number 63 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 25 of the NHM Vienna.

Beluga Sturgeon (NHMW-ZOO-FS-2012.IX.5)

This Bronze cast created in 1927 by François Rudier is part of the [monumental stairs of Marseille Saint Charles](https://goo.gl/maps/EjkGZ38qHaGS66iB7), in France.

The statue - called "La Chasse" (hunting) - is part of a group of six similar pieces representing the region's products (other being fruits, flowers, fishing, cereal harvesting and grapevine harvesting).

Photogrammetry was done from 164 pictures (Pocophone F1) and processed with Colmap and OpenMVS, but I had to correct some of the upper parts of the sculpture in Blender as I did not have a way to get high angles when shooting.

Located on the shore of [Plounéour-Trez](https://goo.gl/maps/j3MMCNg8Lzo), this cross from the XIXth century faces the Bay of Goulven - an ideal location for water sports or on-foot shell fishing depending on the tide - and is a reminder of the past strong religious culture of Brittany (a region of France).

In Breton, "Beg" means headland, and "Groaz" translates to cross.
