This particular model is the *930* generation built in West Germany between 1975 and 1989, a *Turbo* version with a 3.0 liter air-cooled, turbocharged engine.

Game-ready high quality asset (200k triangles) + ClearCoat (40k triangles)

The model was made in a Mid-poly workflow, which handles shading by averaged geometry normals, instead of normal mapping and is easy to optimize by removing divisions, while maintaining the same mesh topology.
It requires more polygons, however it's resistant to normal map compression (it doesn't need one, or a flat-shaded one is used), also producing smooth reflections if done properly.
A ClearCoat mesh was used to achieve a metallic paint effect on the bodywork - not obligatory.

FREE 1975 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo

This model shows the external anatomy of the human heart.  The annotations reflect general features of the heart, with 3D models on coronary vasculature of the heart soon to come.


The model was created from scratch in ZBrush as part of my MSc Medical Art course at the University of Dundee.  It is part of a educational resource project to aid students' learning in the vasculature of the heart, where a 3D printed model has also been created to be used as a comparison for Dundee University's Thiel Cadaver Facility, where the hearts can become quite flat during embalming. 


The project is in collaboration with Mr. Luke Reid, Lecturer in Human Anatomy at the University of Dundee, who confirmed anatomical accuracy of the model. Credit also goes to 3D4medical as my main source of reference and inspiration.

The noses are still bothering me, and I fear I'll have to include a manual step in my scripted workflow to keep more geometry on the face than on the body.

1. albedo + normal map
2. normal map only
3. smoothed normals (no albedo, no normal map)
4. flat shaded

Messing around with refractive materials!

The [Mosquito scan](https://skfb.ly/6tFKT) (415k tris) is from [Geoffrey Marchal](https://sketchfab.com/geoffreymarchal).

**Modeling**:

* The scan was first remeshed with [mmgs](mmgtools.org) and baked to a lighter version (11k tris). 
* The amber fragment was roughly sculpted in blender ("I have no clue what I'm doing" style), keeping the main face flat (clay strips + flatten brushes).
* The small fragments inside the amber were done by splitting all the main fragment edges and applying the "shrink/fatten" tool, followed by a random Displace modifier. Exterior fragments were then removed with a boolean modifier.

**Material**:

The important parts are the roughness and normal maps, which are a mix of PBR textures (rougher edges, smoother main face), while the refractivity is just a product of tweaking Sketchfab settings: opacity set to refractive and using the object's roughness.

Each model is made of 1500 triangles, and has its origin located on the ground plane. Obviously, scans with multiple people have a lower precision.

I removed the textures to keep the faces as flat shaded, as this is the step I'm currently thinking about: geometry.
In particular, how to keep the characters nose - otherwise the face feels too flat - while remeshing in my (automated) workflow.

This could be done by specifying, with just one manual intervention (but not automated anymore!), the face as a zone of higher resolution and giving this input as a metric to [mmgs](http://mmgtools.org). Will think about it...

The Flatiron Building, originally the Fuller Building is a triangular 22-story 285-foot-tall (86.9 m) steel-framed landmarked building located at 175 Fifth Avenue in the eponymous Flatiron District neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan, New York City. Designed by Daniel Burnham and Frederick Dinkelberg, it was one of the tallest buildings in the city upon its 1902 completion, at 20 floors high and one of only two "skyscrapers" north of 14th Street – the other being the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower, one block east.

Porsche 911 GT3

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a family of small-tonnage vehicles from Mercedes-Benz.

There are four body length options (three wheelbase options) and three roof height options, it has dual or single rear axle wheels. Chassis load capacity up to 3350 kg.

A large number of modifications are available: a passenger minibus, a fixed-route taxi (19+7 seats), an intercity minibus (up to 20 seats), a cargo van, a flatbed truck, a refrigerated truck, specialized vehicles (ambulance, mobile headquarters, manipulator, crane), etc.

All-wheel drive and automatic transmission options are available. There is a possibility of buying a chassis.

Both in Europe and in the Russian Federation, the practice of re-equipment and retrofitting of the MB Sprinter from third-party body manufacturers is widespread.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

A set of low-poly buildings of varying quality, originally created for a personal project. Unlike real prototypes, the buildings are a bit wider. The materials are repeated here and there, but you can live with that. This variety should be enough to create a believable background of the urban environment similar to American cities of the Rust Belt. The set includes old classic brownstone complexes, brownstones with a flat facade, brownstones typical of areas like Harlem and fictional corner buildings more common in cities like Boston.

This is a 3D model ("Mary") of an adult (curved carapace length 940 mm) female flatback sea turtle (Natator depressus, PIT tag 900119000520197, captured 11/21/17, Thevenard Island, Western Australia) as part of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions' North West Shelf Flatback Turtle Conservation Program (DBCA-NWSFTCP) with Scott Whiting (DBCA), Sabrina Fossette (DBCA) and Adrian Gleiss (Murdoch University). The turtle was photographed on a nesting beach using the Beastcam system and released in good condition. The 3D model was created through a photogrammetry scan using COLMAP and Autodesk REMAKE. Animator Jer Bot used Blender to reconstruct the sea turtle. Credit should be given to the Digital Life project and NWSFTCP: “The author(s) acknowledge the Digital Life project and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ North West Shelf Flatback Turtle Conservation Program for creation of the 3D flatback turtle model”.

Model 53A - Flatback Sea Turtle

The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) is a high-performance sports car that is based on the current 992 generation.012 It features a 4.2-liter Porsche flat-six engine, which is a step up in displacement from the 4.0-liter units in the previous car. The car boasts an evolutionary result, measuring in terms of the "Balance of Performance" (BoP), with more grip and drive complementing a plus in optimized balance and greater power reserves. The new 911 GT3 R will debut in all GT3 categories and from 2024 in the Championnat du Monde d'Endurance FIA WEC.3 The car features revised aerodynamics, a wider track, longer wheelbase, and a wealth of safety features that are targeted at making the car easier to drive, more durable, and faster.

A few simple sketchfab editor changes for a challenge for fun, the focus was a fantasy feel around dusk, the main changes are;

* Static color background with opacity changes for the sea and sky. This is a simple trick makes a cohesive color composition
* Normal maps added for everything most strikingly the water to break up the flat colors and depth
* Use of refraction opacity, for the sea top has roughness added for depth. The sky has refraction calibrated make use of the assets in the scene to give an almost perlin finish of numerous colors depending on angle
* Clear coats and anisotropy to bounce around colors and add depth
* Orange lighting in the courtyard for a lived in feeling
* Emissions for extra color calibration
* SSAO, Sharpness, Vignette, Tonne mapping and color balance

My goal was to also create cities and landmarks on the world, but while adding more content I found it rather messy and distracting, so I had to cut a bit. This is a total reconstruction. I've used this map as a refference:
