Dirty Crumpled Pieces of Paper - 6 Piece Set

The collection of the Art Department at the Tatra Museum in Zakopane includes two cameras belonging to Mieczysław Karłowicz – an outstanding composer, unsurpassed mountaineer, skier and photographer.  The composer purchased the presented object in 1909 after the success of his symphonic poem Odwieczne pieśni (Eternal songs) at the Warsaw Philharmonic. 
The composer’s new photographic equipment is a so-called travel camera for 13x18 cm film. The camera weighed less than 2 kilograms, and the bellows with the front standard and the lens were supported on two rails and thus, when folded, the whole set did not take up a lot of space (23 x 21.5 x 7 cm).

Origami Crane Study

The original concept was a phoenix but I wanted to base it off of a real bird that I haven't seen before. So instead I made a lava vulture. I also wanted to explore making wings/feathers for the first time, and found it interstingly challenging to make them tuck inwards when folded.

The grave of Friedrich Wildner at the Central Cemetery in Vienna, who died when he was only 22 years old, was declared historically significant because of its uniqueness. Instead of a headstone, a larger-than-life angel with folded hands is enthroned at the grave.

The presented object is a trzos belt – a wide leather belt with a pocket for storing money and documents. It was made in the 2nd half of the 20th century by a Romani saddler near the Romanian city of Brasov (Braşov in Romanian).
The belt was made of a double-folded strip of leather; at the upper edge there is an additional narrow pleat. It is fastened with 4 metal buckles, through which short straps with punched leather eyelets are threaded (5 in each strap). The end of each strap can be additionally fixed by threading it through a belt loop in a vertical leather belt (7 cm wide) attached to the trzos belt with 3 pairs of brass rivets.

The Kneeling Archer is an elite crossbowman in the Terracotta Army, created in the Qin Dynasty (c. 3rd century BCE), standing about 1.2 meters tall. Its defining feature is a ready-to-shoot pose: kneeling on the right knee with the left raised, hands positioned as if holding a crossbow. The armor's lower edge is folded up to accommodate the posture, and the shoe soles have anti-slip patterns, showing meticulous realism. Made with mold-and-sculpting techniques​ and originally painted, it was accidentally discovered in 1974​ in Lintong, Shaanxi, mostly in Pit No. 2. It is a masterpiece showcasing Qin military tactics and sculptural art.

The statue of Mary Immaculate in Ernstbrunn’s main square is a listed sandstone sculpture from the late 18th century, erected around 1790. It depicts the Virgin Mary in the typical representation of the “Immaculate Conception”: with her hands folded in prayer, standing on a globe and above a serpent, which symbolizes defeated evil. The flowing folds of her robe reflect the Baroque style of the time.
