This is an animation of a juvenile (straight minimum carapace length = 27.5 cm, mass = 3.0 kg) green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) that was reconstructed from photos and measurements from a live individual. The turtle was collected by Inwater Research Group during an in-water assessment to gain valuable insights into the demographics of this threatened species.  The turtle was in good health and released back into the wild.  A CG artist (Johnson Martin) reconstructed the turtle using Blender software.

Potions

This was originally the work for my intro to 3D modeling and lighting courses this past semester, but with how things have been going with Covid-19 I wanted to express myself with this scene. Many artist are staying safe and working from home, myself included, but this can lead to feeling disconnected. I wanted to push this disconnect further in the scene by visually breaking away the room that is surrounded by the void. 

This scene is showing where artists sometimes end up, but the message is that we don't have to be "stuck" in this vast loneliness that we are all experiencing. There is always a brighter side, whether it be the family you have with you, or some funny cat videos on youtube. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe, keep looking to the bright side.

I ususally name my trains after people that I love.  One of them is named “Ready Brek” which was my brother’s nickname from when he was a child. He tradically died taking his own life on 4th July 2010. No family should have endure this devastating loss. No mother or father should have to bury their child in these circumstances. Fellas, if you are struggling with problems that are affecting your mental health, you are not alone. Please seek help, it’s readily available! Having just heard that another friend has succumbed, I feel I must share this message!

The specimen was CT scanned at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio, in 2005 as part of a research project, leading to publications in 2008 (http://bit.ly/2pp5V5C) and 2011 (http://bit.ly/2rCNCsT). This Sketchfab model was generated by Ryan Ridgely of WitmerLab and is derived from recent work done for the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History for a new interactive exhibit. Potion Health Elixir (game ready asset)

A wooden stave vessel oval in shape which served as a bathtub for bathing little babies.
Only babies were bathed in this kind of bathtub, known locally as a kompacka. Great importance and ritualistic significance were attached to the first bath immediately after childbirth. The midwife responsible for this bath was called a babica. The activities performed at that time were thought to have a positive impact on the child’s future. Wanting the child to stay healthy and pretty, milk was poured into the water or a pinch of salt was added. After bathing, the water was poured into a place scarcely visited, over the side of kompacka where the baby kept its feet. It was commonly believed that if somebody did not follow such stipulations it might have had a bad effect on the child’s health.

This model was made from scratch, so it’s not compatible with JWE2/3 models.

Just to be clear, this is my OFFICIAL port of my MODEL that I made for SFM I put a lot of effort into recreating all the features and details of the original creature with 4K textures. I hope you like it!

Ticks (order Ixodida) are parasitic arachnids that feed on the blood of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Though tiny, they pose serious health risks due to their ability to transmit diseases like Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and anaplasmosis. Ticks latch onto hosts using specialized mouthparts, piercing the skin and feeding for hours or even days.

Found in grassy, wooded, and humid environments, ticks are most active during warmer months. They detect hosts through body heat and carbon dioxide, then climb aboard to feed. After engorging, they drop off to continue their life cycle.

Preventing tick bites involves wearing protective clothing, using repellents, and checking for ticks after outdoor activities. Despite their reputation, ticks play a role in ecosystems, but their potential to spread disease makes awareness and prevention essential.

The Hygieia Fountain is a lead-cast statue fountain created by Johann Martin Fischer and erected in 1787 at public expense. It stands in the forecourt of the Josephinum (9th District, Währinger Straße 25).

The depiction of the goddess Hygieia—symbol of health—directly reflects the function of the building behind it, constructed between 1783 and 1785 as a training institution for physicians and military doctors and today housing, among other facilities, the Institute and Museum for the History of Medicine.

The central figure is a calm, classically inspired female statue dressed in antique-style drapery, standing on a high pedestal. In her left hand she holds a bowl from which a snake drinks, while another snake coils around her right arm—traditional attributes of Hygieia. The pedestal and octagonal basin are made of stone, while the basin railing and water spouts, designed as Medusa heads, are crafted from metal.

Sculpture “Introscope” is a temporary, freestanding mixed-media installation sculpture that engages Civic Center Plaza as a site of civic memory, visibility, and shared presence and essence. The work centers on an original hand-built clay sculptural face, sanke neck, heart and humming bird pieces referencing Xochipilli’s myth, his relationship with the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl, and ancestors knowledge cult, Gamigin, on the back side, in its horse form, on display in the back, signaling the importance of finding equilibrium by being aware of all aspects of our psyche and collectives.

Together, these views invite reflection on how public identity and internal experience coexist within civic life. Reflecting on the relevance of a healthy ego, and as an introduction to the individual, local or stranger, to our plural society, in which we welcome, respect and praise, moreover, actively practice, and venerate originality, peculiarity, presence, and purpose.

This artifact was found during studies of the attic of Salubria Manor, which was damaged in 2011 because of an earthquake. It was with a NextEngine Desktop 3-D scanner.

Salubria Manor is owned and operated by the Germanna Foundation, which writes “Historic Salubria is an 18th-century (ca. 1757) Georgian-style manor house built for the Reverend John Thompson, rector of the Little Fork Church from 1740 to 1772, who married the widow of Lt. Gov. Alexander Spotswood.
