Imported my old cathedral build and updated it with new blocks, new building techniques, and new surroundings. It was a self-challenge to see how realistic I can make it using only blocks/textures/techniques available in vanilla minecraft. The map was made on a 1.8 build server but packed & uploaded in 1.12.

Had to remove some features from the map during export due to technical difficulties, so it's better to check out the map ingame if you can. The lightmap res is pretty small for each block due to the number of blocks in the whole scene.

Writing to his grandfather, D'Arcy noted: “I yesterday received a chimpanzee, one of the most manlike of apes; it is the rarest and most valuable specimen I have yet had... One of the young Doctors came and helped me to remove its brain at 11 o’clock at night. It was in beautiful condition. I shall be able to make a whole series of preparations besides cleaning the skeleton and stuffing the skin.” The stuffed skin and the brain are also still in the museum.

Chimpanzee skull

An ancient ruin long forgotten by the people who resided here. I began this project with creating a modular set of pieces meant for Unreal Engine. I blocked out the project with primary forms, bringing them into Zbrush to create a high resolution damaged asset. I then imported these new meshes into Maya and made sure that all silhouette changes were visible in the game res models. Once optimized, I brought everything into Substance Painter and textured everything to my desired ruined effect.

The ears may not be transparent when imported into blender. If thats the case, go to the materials tab and scroll down until you see 'Settings'. Under settings is Blend Mode. Click the drop down next to Blend Mode (usually says Opaque) and choose **Alpha Clip.** That should be all!!

Bat skull

quick test of process for work (quick low poly mesh in Maya. painted diffuse, bump and specular in mudbox. add some tail feather quad one offs back in Maya. applied co-workers rig. keyed some quick animation ideas. imported into Unity3D to see about layering animation clips). Seems to work. so. now i'm exhausted and don't feel like fixing any part of it. probably move on to next bird and try to put a little more polish into each step. feel like this is about C-grade. shrug.
