A Hurdy-Gurdy Or Wheel Fiddle Is a stringed instrument that produces sound by hand-crank With a the Wheel acting as Bow was believed to have been created around the 11th century and one of the early forms of organistrum. I loved the overall aesthetic of the instrument and attempted to re-create one!.

I made the model in Zbrush and created a set of alphas in Procreate on the ipad closely following the markings on the original instrument.  I used these in Substance Painter to create the etched details.  This model is not really for 3d printing - the markings will not appear on the print.

Full name: **Astronomical telescope with a Gregorian mirror system**

This type of telescope was first described in 1663 by James Gregory (1638-1675), a Scottish mathematician and astronomer, professor at the University of Edinburgh and St. Andrews University in Scotland. Inventor of the first reflecting telescope. He proposed a method of determining an astronomical unit based on observations of the transit of Venus in front of the disc of the Sun. 

This particular telescope was engineered by Jesse Ramsden (1735–1800), optician, maker of scientific instruments, mainly astronomical and navigational ones, Fellow of the Royal Society in London.

19th-century headstone of  Patrick Barron (born c. 1810) who died aged 19 in 1829 and was buried in Nenagh graveyard, Kenyon Street, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. The headstone was erected by his father Daniel Barron.  Inscription framed within a lozenge border.  The top of the headstone has a central crucifixion flanked by the Instruments of the Passion aka Arma Christi (Weapons of Christ).  The base of the headstone has been signed by the stonecutter W. P. Birdhill.  These are the initials of William Philpot a stonecutter based around Cragg quarry near the village of Birdhill on the Limerick/Tipperary border. In 1938 P. Barron (born c. 1870) who was a blacksmith aged 68 lived in Sarsfield Street in the town of Nenagh. According to folklore collected from Mr Barron the Barron family in Nenagh were shoemaker's up to one hundred and 50 years ago (c. 1788).   In 1901 there was a record of the death of Daniel Barron (born c. 1801) of Francis Street, a shoemaker. Best viewed in Matcap render.

This model of meter was a workhorse in the electronics field until the newer digital instruments began replacing them in the seventies. Hello, all. I am a beginner creator with no real training. I am an aspiring musicologist with a passion for ancient music and instruments. With that interest, I also got an interest in creating some models for ancient/historical woodwind instruments, and I have started with the fascinating double reed, doubled piped instrument from ancient Greece, the aulos.

This was modeled in Blender and Quixel Mixer was used to create the textures. It is considered a work in progress. For one, reeds have not been created for it yet. However, I've been sitting on it for a year now and figured I would share.
