Lewis Chess Set

The Gislinge boat was a 12th Century CE working boat found near the village of Gislinge, Denmark, in 1993. Dendrochronological dating puts its date of construction at around 1130 CE. It was probably used for fishing and goods transportation, and by the signs of wear and tear must have been 50 years old by the time it sank. This reconstruction is based off the Gislinge Boat Open Source Project by the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum (@vikingshipmuseum) , which can be accessed here: https://www.vikingeskibsmuseet.dk/en/professions/boatyard/building-projects/gislingeboat-2016

The project included the construction of various different experimental replicas based on the original find, and the publishing of all the plans so that other people around the world could build their own replica! This is my model of Vivi from Final Fantasy IX. I spend quiet a long time to get the results like you see it now :)
I first sculpted it with ZBrush after that i had to retopo all the geometry in Blender and finaly put some paint onto it in Substance Painter.
I learned a lot and it was real fun as well :)
Ahhhhm and it is low-poly ready to use in games :p

Vivi Ornitier

The Swedish History Museum holds a large collection of bones of various kinds, including human remains. We living humans are both appalled by and attracted to visible evidence of death. The scanned human remains presented on Sketchfab from our museum are important museum artefacts, chosen because they represent a specific historical event. They also represent one of humanity’s worst acts: violence towards other humans. It is therefore our wish that you, as a viewer, use the 3D-models with respect. 

The image shows a human cranium with injuries on its left and front side. A small, square hole above the left eye and on the left cheek bone was probably caused by a pole weapon or a battle axe. The gash across the mouth could have been caused by a sword or a thin bladed axe.The cranium is one of several thousand artifacts found in a mass grave outside Visby on the island Gotland. All remains and objects found on the site stem from a battle between Gotlandic peasants and Danish mercenaries on 27 July 1361.

Thomas the Tank Engine

Medieval church located inside the impressive Fortress of Calatrava La Nueva in Aldea del Rey (Ciudad Real, Spain). The castle/convent of Calatrava La Nueva was built in the 13th century to serve as the seat of the powerful Order of Calatrava and today it is one of the most important castles in Spain. Inside, a large 3-nave church was built in an artistic style that mixes elements of Romanesque, Gothic and influences of Islamic art. This mixture of styles, but also of constructive and decorative techniques, make the church of Calatrava La Nueva a unique place.

We want to publicly thank the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Aldea del Rey City Council, and the archaeologist Ana Segovia Fernández, for the assistance and faciliation they have given provided.

Processed in Reality Capture from 76 Faro laser scans and 4100 photographs.

Medieval Church, Calatrava la Nueva, Spain

Consuegra Castle is a fortress of Islamic origin located in the town of Consuegra, the ancient Roman city
of Consabura. It passed into Christian hands around the year 1090, but
after the battle of Consuegra it was recovered by Islamic troops.
In the 12th century it was finally conquered by Christian troops. For
its better defense, King Alfonso VIII donated the castle in 1183 to
the Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, which made it its main
fortress in the region. During the Peninsular War (1808–1814) it was
occupied by French troops who partially destroyed it in their retreat.

Currently the castle is owned by the Consuegra City Council, being one
of the most visited monuments in Castilla-La Mancha.

The vehicle is classified as a B-segment marque in the European single market, a segment referred to as a supermini in the British Isles. In ancient Greek mythology Ethiopian princess Andromeda was bound to a rock amid the waves of the Red sea. Why? Her mother, Cassiopeia boasted that Andromeda is far more beautifull then all the nymphs of the sea! This angered the god Poseidon who sent a monster creature, Cetus (Ketos) to torment people of ancient Ethiopia. The princess was to be eaten by a sea moster to soothe the anger of the god! In the very last moment a hero - Perseus flew (on Hermes winged sandals) and saved the princess from the vile beast.

When researching Andromeda, I could only find white, pale damsels in distress. Angered by this I wanted to depict Andromeda as a true African princess. I disliked the concept of a helpless damsel and decided to give her some character. I also wanted to portray Ketos as a bewildered sea dragon not an angry whale.

Andromeda & Ketos

This is a 3D model ("Mary") of an adult (curved carapace length 940 mm) female flatback sea turtle (Natator depressus, PIT tag 900119000520197, captured 11/21/17, Thevenard Island, Western Australia) as part of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions' North West Shelf Flatback Turtle Conservation Program (DBCA-NWSFTCP) with Scott Whiting (DBCA), Sabrina Fossette (DBCA) and Adrian Gleiss (Murdoch University). The turtle was photographed on a nesting beach using the Beastcam system and released in good condition. The 3D model was created through a photogrammetry scan using COLMAP and Autodesk REMAKE. Animator Jer Bot used Blender to reconstruct the sea turtle. Credit should be given to the Digital Life project and NWSFTCP: “The author(s) acknowledge the Digital Life project and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ North West Shelf Flatback Turtle Conservation Program for creation of the 3D flatback turtle model”.
