The Swedish History Museum holds a large collection of bones of various kinds, including human remains. We living humans are both appalled by and attracted to visible evidence of death. The scanned human remains presented on Sketchfab from our museum are important museum artefacts, chosen because they represent a specific historical event. They also represent one of humanity’s worst acts: violence towards other humans. It is therefore our wish that you, as a viewer, use the 3D-models with respect. 

The image shows a human cranium with injuries on its left and front side. A small, square hole above the left eye and on the left cheek bone was probably caused by a pole weapon or a battle axe. The gash across the mouth could have been caused by a sword or a thin bladed axe.The cranium is one of several thousand artifacts found in a mass grave outside Visby on the island Gotland. All remains and objects found on the site stem from a battle between Gotlandic peasants and Danish mercenaries on 27 July 1361.

The Marceline Sentinel Armour, or better known as a Marcy, is a prototype military exosuit that is used on one-way-ticket missions as a last-ditch-effort, where the pilot’s body (who would otherwise be out of commission from injuries) is infused with the armour and becomes one with it. Marcies are brutal, but good at their job. None have returned from duty to date.

The mech has been modelled in both Zbrush and Maya, and then has been taken into Substance Painter for baking and texturing using a PBR pipeline workflow. The mesh was then rigged and animated in 3DS Max.

The statue of Miklós Jurisics stands in the courtyard of Jurisics Castle in Kőszeg (Güns). It commemorates the Croatian-Hungarian military leader who served under Ferdinand I. The bronze sculpture was created in 1963 by the sculptor Sándor Mikus.

Jurisics became famous for defending the town during the Siege of Kőszeg in 1532. With fewer than a thousand defenders, he held off a large Ottoman army under Suleiman the Magnificent for several weeks. His resistance delayed the Ottomans’ advance toward Vienna.

The statue commemorates Jurisics as the city’s defender and highlights Kőszeg’s historical significance as a border fortress against the Ottoman Empire. To this day, the city’s bells ring daily at 11 a.m. to mark the end of the siege.

For historical information about this helmet The Prussian Pickelm tze was introduced by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia at the beginning of the 19th century. It was originally commissioned by King Frederick William III. designed for the Prussian infantry and later spread to other German states and military branches. The design was influenced by helmets worn by Russian soldiers during their visit to Berlin in 1812. It became the iconic symbol of the German military until it was retired for practical reasons during World War I it offered little protection against the shrapnel injuries of modern warfare.
