This is a 3D animation ("Scallywag") of a juvenile green sea turtle (ID=CM1648) (*Chelonia mydas*) that was captured on December 23, 2016 by the Loggerhead MarineLife Center at Blowing Rocks Preserve.  The turtle was attacked by a shark, but survived.  It was photographed with the Beastcam technology with 20 Canon G16 cameras by Christine Shepard.

The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.  Animator Jer Bot used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Charles Mairne from the Loggerhead MarineLife Center provided feedback on the movements.

Model 46A - Subadult Green Sea Turtle

This is an animation of a juvenile (straight minimum carapace length = 27.5 cm, mass = 3.0 kg) green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) that was reconstructed from photos and measurements from a live individual. The turtle was collected by Inwater Research Group during an in-water assessment to gain valuable insights into the demographics of this threatened species.  The turtle was in good health and released back into the wild.  A CG artist (Johnson Martin) reconstructed the turtle using Blender software.

This is an animation of a juvenile (straight minimum carapace length = 75.1 mm, mass = 72.8 g, age=20 days) Leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) that was reconstructed from photos and measurements from a live individual. The turtle was collected by Jeanette Wyneken (Florida Atlantic University) for her research on leatherback ecology and development, and the model was created in collaboration with the Upwell Non-Profit (https://www.upwell.org/).  CG artist Johnson Martin reconstructed the turtle using Blender software.

Model 74A - Juvenile Leatherback Sea Turtle

The Ghost Leviathan is a 107 meter long leviathsn class organism that is found around both the crater's edge and the Lost River of 4546B. The lost river ghost leviathsns are actualle juvenile, and are about the size of a Reaper Leviathan, or a Cyclops class Submarine. The Ghost leviathans actually have eggs, that can only be seen growing pn the Giant Cove Tree, as the eggs were laid when the tree was young, and the eggs are so old that the tree grew vary large around these egs. The ghost leviathan has a large hammer head in order to do heavy hitting ram attacks on its prey or its hiding spots, revealing them. It swims in a strange circular motion, alowing it to be really fast. It will eat ghost rays, river prowlers, and other small creatures in the lost river to grow, however, when thwy are fully grown, they move to the crater edge and feed off of microorganisms. They only attack there due to the edge being their territory.

This is a 3D model (“Tumbleweed”) of a juvenile Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle (ID 132) (*Lepidochelys kempii*) that was initially rescued by the New England Aquarium in Massachusetts, and then photographed with the Beastcam technology with 30 Canon G16 cameras. The sea turtle was released soon after in the Southern United States in good condition. The 3D model was initially created through a photogrammetry scan using Capturing Reality.  We digitally scrubbed the ID tag on the shell.

Animator Robert Gutierrez used Blender to reconstruct the full sea turtle from these scans, as well as animate the movements. Jeanette Wyneken from Florida Atlantic University, and Connie Merigo from the New England Aquarium each provided feedback on the movements.

Model 52A - Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle (no ID)

3D scan of a juvenile American alligator (*Alligator mississippiensis*). Alligators are native to the southeastern United States and to northeastern Mexico. They live in freshwater wetlands such as marshes and swamps. Apart from this species there is only one other extant *Alligator*: the Chinese alligator (*Alligator sinensis*). 

The American alligator can be found in Hall 28 of the NHM Vienna.

I'll try to discipline myself in the future to find the patience to create a proper and animated version of a similar model !

Model 51 - Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle (with ID)

The scalloped hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini) is a species of hammerhead shark in the family Sphyrnidae. It was originally known as Zygaena lewini. The Greek word sphyrna translates into "hammer" in English, referring to the shape of this shark's head, which is its most distinguishing characteristic. The shark's eyes and nostrils are at the tips of the extensions. It is a fairly large hammerhead, but is still smaller than both the great and smooth hammerheads.

3D scan of a taxidermized Gharial adult female and juvenile (*Gavialis gangeticus*). These reptiles are domestic to Nepal and India and live in freshwater rivers. Even though their appearance may give another impression, these fish-eaters are no threat to humans.

Both of these Gharials cannot be found in the showrooms of the NHM Vienna, but a gharial pair is shown in Hall 28 of the NHM Vienna. They are Number 70 of the NHM Top 100.

Black Piranha Adult (Serrasalmus Rhombeus). According to my research this is the correct name for this species. Rhombeus is translated as diamond, for the diamond shape of its body, though many piranhas have such a shape, this one is more prominent. And a big difference between adult and juvenile, as with more piranhas

Juvenile Gouldings Piranha  (Serrasalmus Gouldingi), or Blue Tiger Piranhas, are medium-sized predators with a striking metallic blue body and a somehwhat vague reflection, probably due to the settings of 3dsmax and then the roughness in particular. And faint vertical stripes reminiscent of tiger patterns, who in their turn are reminiscent of Tiger themself. Native to South American rivers, these piranhas are territorial and visually impressive, it is recommended that if you plan on a marathon watch [2 weeks or longer without sleeping and eating] that you buy a decent pair of sunglasses with UV blocker to keep your eyes from turning blue.

Two speices of Lobate Comb Jellies and 1 Not. Lobata is an order of transparent marine invertebrates belonging to the phylum of Ctenophora in the class Tentaculata, and are commonly referred to as comb jellies or sea gooseberries.
The other (Brown Comb Jelly) is from family Beroidae  more commonly referred to as the beroids. It is the only known family within the monotypic order Beroida and the class Nuda. They are distinguished from other comb jellies by the complete absence of tentacles, in both juvenile and adult stages.
