Lion Crushing a Serpent (1832)
by Antoine-Louis Barye (1796 - 1875)

Although his contemporaries criticized his style and his choice of animal subjects, Barye is today esteemed as the founder of the Parisian animaliers.
The noble lion, representing the new King and the people of France, is shown in a triumphant struggle against the serpent, symbolizing Charles X (reigned 1824–1830) and the ousted Bourbon dynasty. The pair additionally suggests a celestial sanction for Louis-Philippe’s reign by alluding to the constellations of Leo (the lion) and Hydra (the sea serpent), which “ruled the heavens” during the days of the July Revolution (July 27-30, 1830).

The scanned sculpture is a copy made by Guy Hain, who is a French art forger who produced number of fake bronze sculptures.
The Lion is located by the entrance of Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.

Lion Crushing a Serpent

Noone can ignore this big statue found in the Napoléon Courtyard of Louvre Palace. It is a copy in plomb of the original statue in Versailles, made by Bernini and Girardon.

I made this model of Tyrannosaurus Rex based on its reconstruction seen in the 2022 documentary called Prehistoric Planet

This model uses as a base the Trex model from Jurassic World Evolution 2, it also uses as a base the texture made by the talented artist GameVideosForLife, I applied some modifications to the texture so that it looks more faithful to the original CGI model from the documentary.

It is rigged and has its textures in 4K quality.

I am the original creator of this model, from now on I will start uploading the rest of my models to sketchfab to prevent them from re-uploading it without crediting me.

*Strix varia*, or the barred owl, can be commonly found in dense forests and wooded swamps in southwestern Canada, Washington, Oregon and northern California. The barred owl is, on average 48-51 cm tall, and has a rounded-head with grey-white facial disc. Where many owls have ear tufts, the barred owl does not.

The small serrations on an owl’s primary feathers creates small vortices reducing noise from wind drag to near zero. The silent flight of owls inspired the biomimetic solution to wind noise caused by the Shinkansen Bullet Train as it travels near 350km/h. These serrations also inspired the redesign of  Ziehl-Abegg, Inc’s fan blades, reducing noise and improving energy efficiency. Small Antique Table Asset

Entrée du château de Blois. Elle est construite par Louis XII (fin XVème) et s'accole aux bâtiments plus anciens. On reconnait la marque Louis XII avec la présence de briques et les ornements en pierre de tuffeau. Il est représenté en cavalier et son emblème le porc-épic est présent à différents endroits de la façade.

Château de Blois

This is one of the most stunning places in the Paris catacombs. Built in the early XIX century, this fountain is located under the Luxembourg garden (at the place where once stood the great *Chartreuse* of Paris - a large monastery of the Carthusian religious order).

Louis Héricart-de-Thury (then the General Inspector of the Paris' underground quarries) built the fountain to drain underground water and better monitor the water tables. The water has a blue-green color thanks to some minerals. It's one of the best places to have a break during a night of underground exploration.

Already in the 18th century this famous sculpture was known by various nicknames, the best known of which was L'Amour Menaçant, ‘menacing love’. The threat is most evident in the Cupid’s knowing gaze, while the gesture he makes invokes us to secrecy. The statue was made for Madame de Pompadour, King Louis XV’s art-loving mistress.

Seated Cupid - Rijksmuseum

This is an animation of an adult male North American Otter ( *Lontra canadensis*)

This 3D model was recreated as a 3D digital photogrammetry scan done on a captive otter ("Louis", approximately 4 years old) at the Maymont Nature Center (https://maymont.org/animals/nature-center/).  His estimated mass was 19.6 kg.

CG artists Jer Bot, Johnson Martin and Robert Gutierrez used Blender to reconstruct the full otter from the scan and other images, as well as animate the movements. Thanks to the Maymont Nature Center, and the Richard Lewis Media Group (http://rlmg.com/), which provided funding for project.

Louisville City

Thoracic vertebra from a dolphin skeleton salvaged while conducting archeological fieldwork in Belize. Using comparitive skull anatomy I have determined that is is a common bottlenose dolphin (*Tursiops truncatus*).
