A Hindu temple, or mandir or koil in Indian languages, is a house, seat and body of divinity for Hindus. It is a structure designed to bring human beings and gods together through worship, sacrifice, and devotion. The symbolism and structure of a Hindu temple are rooted in Vedic traditions, deploying circles and squares. It also represents recursion and the representation of the equivalence of the macrocosm and the microcosm by astronomical numbers, and by "specific alignments related to the geography of the place and the presumed linkages of the deity and the patron". A temple incorporates all elements of the Hindu cosmos — presenting the good, the evil and the human, as well as the elements of the Hindu sense of cyclic time and the essence of life — symbolically presenting dharma, artha, kama, moksa, and karma

This is a 3D model  of a racer snake (Dolichophis jugularis) scanned using the Beastcam MACRO on a live snake in Cyprus. The mass of the snake is 479 grams. CG artist Jer Bot retopologized and reconstructed the snake in the open source 3D animation software Blender (blender.org). He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. The construction of this model is part of the post-doc research of Dr. Savvas Zotos (POST-DOC/0916/0034) (https://retrack.terracypria.org) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. This 3D model will be used as a means for both studying and presenting the species movement and behavioural patterns.

Model 60A - Cyprus Racer Snake

This is an animation of a house gecko (Hemidactylus platyurus) photo-captured with the Beastcam MACRO live in the Irschick lab at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mass is 4.6 grams. CGI artist Johnson Martin retopologized and reconstructed the gecko from images captured with the Canon G16 cameras. We partnered with Cameron Siler from the University of Oklahoma and Tony Gamble from Marquette University to create this model, which they will use for testing models of predation and gliding in geckos.  Creation of this model was supported by NSF grant 1657662.

Fixed both textures and names. For missing maps, it seems to be a bug from sketchfab that cames with larger files.
This project was meant to have 24 textures:
20 (4x5) PBR maps (lamberts that you can altlas in one macro texture, with a bit of work in maya and photoshop, or use separately for more resolution)
+ 4 ORM maps (this project it's also prepared for UE4, so the ORM maps that you see are  just Ambient Occlusion, Roughness and Metallic compressed in a single RGB map for internal optimization in Unreal Engine)

He did this through images captured using an array of six Canon G16 cameras and other reference photos. Model 59A - Sling Tailed Agama

This remarkable golden poison frog (*Phyllobates terribilis*) lives on the ground in humid forests along the Pacific coast of Colombia. They breed by females laying eggs on the ground, in which males transport the larvae to permanent freshwater pools. They are mostly commonly found as mint green and yellow however they can occur as orange. This frog is well known for its densely toxin-coated skin. 

This animal was captured by the Beastcam MACRO from the collection of Michael Wallitis.

Model 39 - Golden Poison Frog

3D scan of two giant spider crabs (*Macrocheira kaempferi*). These large specimens where a gift from the Japanese Emperor Meiji to Emperor Franz Joseph I in 1882. With a leg span of up to 4 meters, these crabs are the largest living crustaceans in the world. They can weight up to 20 kilograms and are only found in the Pacific Ocean around the Japanese Islands. 

The Japanese giant spider crabs are Number 48 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 23 of the NHM Vienna, right behind the [giant clam](https://skfb.ly/onAWG).

Japanese Giant Spider Crabs (NHMW-ZOO-CR-4381)

This is a 3D scan of a cockroach I bought on etsy. It's part of a larger project where I combined 3D modeled assets with photogrammetry (see http://whatswrongwithwhite.tumblr.com/image/177884973392 ). I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways). For cleanup I used blender (cleaning up holes, chopping up into body parts, modeling deatils). For the final material design and export Substance Painter did a great job.

Cockroach (3D photogrammetry scan)

This is a 3D model of Emperor Scorpion (*Pandinus	imperator*) captured at Irschick Lab at Umass Amherst in March 2016.

The emperor scorpion is one of the largest scorpions in the world. Widely kept as pets, this West African species occurs in rainforest and savanna habitats.

Model 4 - Emperor Scorpion

This is a 3D model of Tokay gecko (*Gecko	gekko*) captured at Irschick Lab,  UMass Amherst in November 2016.

One of the largest gecko species, this species is known to defend itself with a strong bite.  Tokay geckos are highly arboreal species found on trees and other similar vegetation in various parts of Southeast Asia.

Amazing Dinoworld Maip Macrothorax

This is an animation of a flying gecko (*Ptychozoon kuhli*) photo-captured with the Beastcam MACRO from a live gecko in the Irschick lab at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mass is 13.8 grams. CGI artist Johnson Martin retopologized and reconstructed the gecko from images captured with the Canon G16 cameras and other images primarily using Open-source tools such as Blender. We partnered with Cameron Siler from the University of Oklahoma and Tony Gamble from Marquette University to create this model, which they will use for testing models of gliding in geckos. Model 57A - Flying Gecko

This is an animation of an adult Bluegill.

This 3D model is a composite of images from an adult Bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) housed at the Maymont Nature Center (https://maymont.org/animals/nature-center/), and a scan from a preserved Bluegill from the Natural History Collection at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (https://bcrc.bio.umass.edu/nhc/home).

CG artists Jer Bot, Johnson Martin and Robert Gutierrez used Blender to reconstruct the full fish from these scans and images, as well as animate the movements. Thanks to the Maymont Nature Center, the Richard Lewis Media Group (http://rlmg.com/), and the Natural History Collection for facilitating the work.

Model 70A - Bluegill

Model 41 - Phyllobates terriblis, "Mint morph"

My daughter found a dead hornet (Vespa crabro) body in our warehouse, and I decided to give this scan a try. 
A couple of years ago, hornets made a nest in our yard, and it was pretty much impossible to walk around and not bump your head into one of these.

In terms of scans, the wings are the hardest parts, I've remodelled parts of them in Blender, but the work is far from finished.
I’m impressed with what Metashape did with the scanned material.
