Butrón (Basque: Butroeko gaztelua) is a castle located in Gatika, in the province of Biscay, in northern Spain. It dates originally from the Middle Ages, although it owes its present appearance to an almost complete rebuilding begun by Francisco de Cubas (also known as Marqués de Cubas) in 1878. The castle has a fairy-tale look about it inspired by Bavarian castle models. The present building was created as a hobby for its then owner and to create something which is visually spectacular rather than to produce something in which people could actually live. In fact it would be quite inconvenient as a home as the towers have little useful space and various parts of the castle have exterior connections which are not particularly apt for the wet Basque weather.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butr%C3%B3n

The castle comprises the original enclosure of the medieval village of Montemor-o-Novo. The virtual tour we present to you has the approximate length of a 1,5 Km and starts in the former Church of S. Tiago / Interpretive Center of the Castle. It goes through the streets of the centuries-old intramural village and gives you a better understanding of both the past and the present of this place.

This model is one result of Global Digital Heritage's campaign in Alentejo (Portugal) in 2019. A product of the processing in Reality Capture of the 15.306 photos of two drones working on site, one by Miguel Angel Hervás (Baraka Arqueólogos S.L.) and the other by João Marques (GEODRONE). The campaign was supported by Montemor-o-Novo's Municipality, Évora's Municipality and Direção Regional de Cultura do Alentejo.

Montemor-o-Novo's Castle

The current Mula castle was built in the 16th century on the remains of the old medieval Islamic castle. Still today a great part of the wall that protected this site in Muslim time is preserved thanks to it being reused after the Christian conquest. However, the current castle is the work of Pedro Fajardo y Chacón, I Marqués de los Vélez, who after the popular revolts of 1520 against him, decided to show his power to the town of Mula through the construction of this fortress. That explains the existence in the walls of the castle of up to nine coats of arms belonging to the Fajardo and Silva family.

This model was processed in RealityCapture from 1653 images from a DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

"La date précise de l'édification de l'église Sainte Marie n'est pas connue. Ce que l'on sait c'est que Monseigneur Dalmace archvêque de Narbonne décède à Rieux en 1096 en venant superviser le début des travaux.

L'édifice est une retonde construite sur un plan heptagonal (Choeur à 7 côtés et déambulatoire à 14 côtés aux angles peu marqués). 

Les chapiteaux sont l'oeuvre de "Maitre de Cabestany". Les chapelles sont ajoutées au XVe siècle"

"Expedición Española a Dinamarca"
Diorama galardonado con el 1º Premio Dioramas 2005 de los Premios Ejército. Autor de la maqueta: D. Juan García Yuqueros. Escena: Representa un alto en el camino de las tropas españolas destacadas en Dinamarca entre 1807 y 1808. Sobre un puente levadizo de madera. Hecho histórico: La escena hace referencia a la Expedición Española a Dinamarca (1807-1808), durante las Guerras Napoleónicas. En 1807, por el Tratado de Fontainebleau, España envió la División del Norte, 15.000 hombres al mando del Marqués de la Romana, para guarnecer Dinamarca como aliada de Napoleón. Tras el levantamiento del 2 de Mayo de 1808, La Romana organizó la famosa fuga: con ayuda de la flota británica, 9.000 españoles escaparon desde Langeland y Nyborg para regresar a España y luchar contra los franceses. Fue uno de los episodios más singulares de lealtad a la Patria.
