One of the UK's most 'decorated' or deliberately marked stones. The study by Andy Jones and myself identified 105 cup marks, and up to 47 linear features that radiate from or link them together.

This model was funded by [Cornwall Archaeological Society](https://cornisharchaeology.org.uk). 3D scan of the family house, in which my grandmother grew up!

It is located in the middle of fields in the "[Côte des Légendes](https://goo.gl/BhWdrr)" area in Brittany in France, and initially served as a farmhouse, a barn and a stable: there is still a massive granite trough inside the main building, which purpose was to feed the animals.

Processed from 670 pictures on Pocophone F1, some of them acquired with a 4.5m telescopic glass-washing handle, used as a (tall) DIY monopod. I still had to manually correct and paint some of the higher parts of the model for it to display nicely, as well as carve into the windows to improve on realism. The normals (Matcap + Surface) are not baked from bump maps, but actual geometry.

19th-century headstone of  Patrick Barron (born c. 1810) who died aged 19 in 1829 and was buried in Nenagh graveyard, Kenyon Street, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. The headstone was erected by his father Daniel Barron.  Inscription framed within a lozenge border.  The top of the headstone has a central crucifixion flanked by the Instruments of the Passion aka Arma Christi (Weapons of Christ).  The base of the headstone has been signed by the stonecutter W. P. Birdhill.  These are the initials of William Philpot a stonecutter based around Cragg quarry near the village of Birdhill on the Limerick/Tipperary border. In 1938 P. Barron (born c. 1870) who was a blacksmith aged 68 lived in Sarsfield Street in the town of Nenagh. According to folklore collected from Mr Barron the Barron family in Nenagh were shoemaker's up to one hundred and 50 years ago (c. 1788).   In 1901 there was a record of the death of Daniel Barron (born c. 1801) of Francis Street, a shoemaker. Best viewed in Matcap render.

Patrick Barron Headstone Kenyon St. Nenagh

This stone slab lies 3m to the NE of the kerb cairn on the Monzie estate. It measures 2.5m in length by 1.5m in breadth. The upper face has about 60 cups, each with up to 4 rings. The largest ring measures 400mm in diameter and the cups are up to 40mm deep. Two cups have radial grooves and one dumbell was also noted.

Visited in Febuary 2022.

Monzie, Crieff, Perthshire

Located in Strade Dominican friary (MA070-067001-), one of a group of five floriated graveslabs standing upright attached to the internal face of the south wall of the friary chancel. Tapered graveslab with floriated cross measuring 1.19m long by 0.39m wide that served as the lid of a medieval stone coffin/sarcophagus.  The surface of the slab is worn, but the outline of a long cross fleury carved in low relief extending almost the full length of the slab is visible.   Greek crosses rise from the terminals of the diagonal arms which represent the Crucifix and may represent a version of the Lily Crucifix.  Wavy diagional line near cross base has flowering terminals topped with a Greek cross.  Carving is best viewed in Matcap render. Flowering cross based on the Tree of Life.  In Christian theology, the crucifixion of Jesus transforms the cross from a "tree of death" into a new "Tree of Life," reversing the fall of humanity in Eden. Strade Abbey Graveslab MA070-067009-

This is a limestone graveslab embedded in the ground immediately east of the church at Stonecarthy. It is very eroded, but apparently shows the head of a male on top of a four-armed cross with fleur-de-lys terminals. (It is easier to see in Matcap mode.) The HEV doesn't date it, but I'd say 13th or 14th century.

Lost Stones of Strathtay - Craig Hill 1718-2

Strade Dominican Friary is a National Monument in state ownership (No. 172). The abbey dates to the mid-13th century, when it first started as a Franciscan Friary, established by the Lord of Athlethan (Ballylahan), Jordan de Exeter. The Dominican friars moved into Strade in 1253. The priory was dedicated to the Holy Cross & was a daughter house of Sligo Dominican priory (SL014-068008-). One of a group of 5 graveslabs on display against the south wall of the chancel of the Dominican friary church. This tapered slab served as the lid of a stone coffin. It bears a floriated cross in low relief, the terminals of the cross appear to form trefoils/bud & leaf or flower & leaf motif, a fleur-de-lis/flower of the lily. Fleury Cross/Lily Cross, terminals representing the flowering head of the lily plant. Diagonal arms represent the Crucifixion. Carving is best viewed in matcap render. Pedra de Armas da antiga capela dos Metelos

My final entry for the skateboard texturing challenge.

Although I would probably hang it on my wall today, this skateboard has all the features I would have dreamt of as a teenager:

* Sick natural engraving design inspired by Sin City
* DC comics "collector edition" trucks
* Old Spitfire wheels
* 8 plys of Canadian maple: who needs flex anyway?
* The obvious griptape logo ;)
* Random surf/skate sticker
* Tony Hawk signature
* And to prove I'm not a poser, I even wore it by riding it to a few sessions at the park! 

The materials were entirely (and sometimes painfully) created within Gimp and Blender, and the final textures were baked for export with [BakeMyScan](http://bakemyscan.org). 

Matcap+Surface should give you a better view of some details!

Anime classroom retextured

This scene is reconstructed using [NeuralRecon](https://zju3dv.github.io/neuralrecon) from a video sequence with known camera poses in real-time.

Notes: You can toggle the “Single Sided” option in Model Inspector (pressing I key) to enable back-face culling (see through walls). Select “Matcap” to inspect the geometry without textures.

Working with normals to make a great quality project with a low poly count using high resolution textures.

Normal maps were made by making very high poly renders of the coin using render engine Workbench with MatCap Normal lighting

Just a €1 coin

The rock carvings at Queens Wood was uncovered by myself in 2011. During the ScRAP project in 2020, it was unable to be found. 
It sits in in the Queens Wood, which is to the south of the lane to Balmacnaughton rock art site, on the southeast side of Loch Tay. From here you would get great views of both Loch Tay and Strath-Tay, the most concentrated area of rock art in Scotland. 

The panel is recorded to have -  

1 cup and 3-ring marks with gutter.
1 cup and 2-ring marks with cup-mark on outer circle
1 cup and partial-ring mark
2 cup and ring marks
1 cup and 2 partial rings with cup-marks between partial rings.
1 cup and 2-ring marks with 3 cups on and between rings. This is shown on the model I was able to make. 
20 cup-marks.
